Giants were down to 2 halfbacks,Bradshaw who has health issues and Wilson ...a rookie, that is why they signed 2 backs .

i seriously doubt torain is going to give them a ton of insight. like giatone said, this is purely due to injuries.

^ Jerry Reese could have signed Ryan Grant or any other free agent running back that was available. Torain has been out of football an entire year. You mean bringing him in for a workout and signing him to a deal was the best they could do? Nay!!! They brought him in to pick his brains about the Redskins playbook. Torain is the second former Redskins running back the Giants brought in this year(Andre Brown). This is similar to spygate.

We don't even run the same offense now, Torain isn't going to help them much.

Torain never played in our current offense. He has nothing to share.

I don't think Torrain is going to help much if it's a "information" type of signing, but it's fun to think it is. Of course, didn't the Giants sign one of our wide receivers last year right before our game? Who was that guy's name again? lol

We didn't have the option offense when he was here. You can take the tinfoil hat off now. :silly:

Ryan Torrain is very familiar with the zone run blocking scheme. This is the staple of both Shanahans' offense. This has been the bread and butter of their offense. I don't think it's going to help the giants but in addition to their rb injury issues- they also picked up Torrain to try to get some kind of competitive edge. It's not going to help, but they gotta try.

The only way we will know for sure that this is the main reason is - if the giants cut him sometime next week.

No, we didn't run the option offense when Torain was a Redskin. But he knows the other offense that is still fundamentally apart of the Redskins offense.

I dont think trying to get some sort of competitive advantage had anything to do with the Giants picking up Torrain. They picked him up because they need a RB and he's a pretty good one. Shannahan's ZBs has been around for decades. Torrain wouldnt be able to tell them anything about it they dont already know.
