If he's sitting around in the 5th round or later I'd say the value is there. I was thinking more along the lines of UDFA..but 5-7 is good too. BigHairedAristocrat 11-27-2012, 12:23 PM Lets be real - if you were an NFL wide receiver, would you have wanted to come to the redskins to catch passes from a rookie or a pro-bowler? Also consider the redskins organization has a recent history of losing and general dysfunction. RGIII has changed all that, though. In the past, it seems alot of times the only reason we got certainplayers to come here was because we offered them more money than other teams. Now that other NFL players have seen what he can do, they'll WANT to come here. Offensive players will want to play with RGIII. Defensive players will want to be on a team where they dont have to worry about the offense putting them in big holes. They may even take less money to come to HERE... that will be a nice change. los panda 11-27-2012, 12:29 PM i really root for bb, but he's just not cutting the mustard. 53Fan 11-27-2012, 12:47 PM i really root for bb, but he's just not cutting the mustard. Me too. So much speed. But he's quick of feet..slow of mind apparently. He just doesn't seem to get it and it's really a shame. He could be such a playmaker but he makes too many bad decisions and seems to have a hard time grasping what he's suppose to be doing as a WR. He does pose a threat and has to be accounted for when he's on the field...but just imagine if he was actually good at it. calia 11-27-2012, 06:08 PM I root for Banks every time he touches the ball (he's exactly my size -- 5'7", 155 -- so it's pretty much a necessity), and he's so fast, it's surprising to me he hasn't been able to break one for a TD yet. But I also hold my breath thinking that it won't take much of a whack for the ball to come loose. REDSKINS4ever 11-27-2012, 06:18 PM I've been a huge Brandon Banks fan since he's been on the Redskins and I've argued for him and stood up for him on these boards. But I'm beginning to see what a lot of Redskins fans see and that is Banks lack of explosion. The great kickoff/punt returners we've had here in the past were explosive. Darrell Green, Brian Mitchell, Mike Nelms, Santana Moss, etc. Banks has speed but he's not explosive. His decisions to either let the ball bounce into the end zone or return it could have hurt the Redskins last Thursday. I would be more comfortable with Santana Moss returning punts. htownskinfan 11-27-2012, 06:28 PM I think just about everybody loved Banks at first. He's turned out to be nothing special, which is bad enough without his terrible decision making. I was glad we didnt sign Jacoby,I watched a lot of Texans games and was not impressed,he was very inconsistant.I dont know what kind of receiving yr he's had,but he's def been better than Banks in the return dept Chief X_Phackter 11-27-2012, 07:23 PM Have we tried A. Robinson back there? Seems like he might have something to offer. Can't get any worse than Banks is doing right now. It reminds me of when Randle El was at the latter stages of returning punts. Dance - dance - down... NO question he has the ability, but either our return team isn't giving him any holes, or he just can't make a decision....either way, something has to change. los panda 11-27-2012, 07:26 PM i think robinson and paul could handle kicks and moss could handle punts |
