Flacco, Freeman, E. Manning, P. Manning, Rodgers, Stafford, Bradford, Rivers, Dalton, Brady, Schaub, Cutler, and many other QBs around the NFL has never done what RG3 has done this season. As a rookie, RG3 outshines them all. How many of those QBs ever had thrown for 2500 yards, 16 TDs, only 4 INTs, and a 104.6 Qb rating through their first 11 games as a pro? None of them!!!
W/out question he takes care of the ball. But I'd say our offense is a bit different from Green Bay's, Detroit, New England and even Indy. Those teams are pass first offenses where we're play action first offense. I don't think RG3 would have the stats he does if he played in a pass first offense. He'd probably have a few more picks, a lower completion % but more yards. That's not taking anything away from RG3, it's just that those teams play a higher risk type of offense. I think Luck leads the league in pass attempts. What I like most about RG3 is he does things that don't show up in the stat sheet and he can impact the game in more ways than one.

The only thing I thought he had wrong, is his #2 point for Luck. He said Indy's defense " is truly bad", which it may be, but ours has been worse for much of the season, and yet Griffin has had us in position to win at least 2 other games (NYG and Rams). Seemed a weak argument to me.

They are truly bad but I thought the same way as you when he didn't mention our defense. I mean, what are we, chopped liver? YES!!! How can you talk about a bad defense and not mention ours? I think he came to the right conclusion though.

Great thread. Griffin is number one in my book but, unbiasedly I'd say...
1 Brady
2 Peyton
3 Brees
3 Rodgers
5 RG3
Taking in consideration each QB's OL, WRs/TEs talent, QB rating and clutch ability. If all things were equal, this is how I see it.

Most of the teams you mentioned have starting quarterbacks who very accurate with the football. Rg3 came from a high percentage bubble screen type offense at Baylor and he has played admirably. When you look at Griffin III play the first thing yo notice is that he makes all his throws count. He doesn't waste passes and this is the reason why he's able to take care of the ball. You'll never see him have 16 TDs and 20 INTs like Rex Grossman.

My friend asked me this question the other day "5 years from now who will be the top 3 QBs in the NFL?"
I said
1) RG3
2) Luck
3) Matt Ryan
Who would your 3 be (keep in mind some of the QBs in college could be counted)

I love him with every fiber of my being so I couldn't possibly objectively rank him, nor would I want to. Number one in my friggin' heart, that's for sure. Could not be more proud of that guy.

RG3 is certainly the best quarterback in the NFC. Romo and Vick didn't play well this year and Eli Manning is inconsistent. RG3 towers above them all.
