To tell you the truth, I think we could do a hell of alot better if we can just add ONE solid starting CB, and have JW start the other side, and DH play the nickelback. And then with the safeties, this will be the hardest position to fill. I say we keep Merriweather, and add a young buck in the second round to start for us. I swear I hope we can both Madoodoo and Doubty. I feel that we can find better options than them, younger as well, on the FA market or through some sort of trade, maybe even the middle rounds of the draft.
One thing is for sure, our scouting department had better be working overtime for this next draft, cause without at least a starter CB or safety, the defense will continue to bleed out, Orakpo or not.
So Browns a no good bust but you want to keep Merriweather?

Take it easy Francis, I was being sarcastic. Bad humor.
Your reputation doesn't lend itself to that being a sarcastic comment
NC Skins-technically we got Niles Paul as well in the deal and JL is in the plans for next year

Brown should not be blamed. He's tried to get onto the field.
As for his acquisition, it was kind of a high risk/high reward thing from the beginning. Unfortunately we got the risk part of that deal. If he had gotten healthy, as was surmised at his acquisition, we would have a kick-ass offensive line right now.
That Guy

maybe because he played like a champ in NO, then got here and has been the most underwhelming player in the past 5 years, unless of course you count McFlabb. The guy is a pain in the franchises neck (or knee), since he is an expensive IR addition all the time, and we have to expose our franchise QB to journeyman backup tackles that get beat on a consistent basis. But even when he did play, he was VERY mediocre, almost bad.
um, your history is off. JB didn't play like a champ in NO, that's part of why they traded him. he got like a millionity false starts called on him. not saying he was a chump, but it was a bit of a surprise when they let him go.
our mistake was giving him a big contract, or not doing due dilligence i guess. he's still not making tons for a starting tackle, but for a guy that isn't playing... that hurts.

Would you rather us be hating on Shanny? Not only did he trade a valuable pick for a injured player, but he doubled down on that SAME frigging injured player by signing him to a contract in the previous off-season.
Exactly.
NC thats not like you? Lol.
P.S. - that sunset picture is awesome. I keep going back into the pic thread to check it out. :)

Well if BW stays hurt for three years than this would be a fair statement. Personally i think its ridiculous for anybody to call Brown a no good bum- im sure his hip didnt mean anything personal against the Skins. Now haynesworthless was a no good bum. Like SS said im sure Brown would relish the chance to earn his money. Its a shame really.

Well, it stands to reason. This was a Vinny Cerratto kind of move by Shanahan. You don't trade away a 3rd round pick for an injured player. The trade for Brown was in my opinion worse than the trade Ceratto made for Jason Taylor.
