punch it in 11-20-2012, 09:55 PM Im just not into excuses. Would it help to have your team 100 % healthy all year - uh yeah. Does it ever happen - no. I love Garcon - not sure if he is "great". Same can be said for that whole list. Rak and Carriker are huge but they arent "great". Merriweather was cut and was far from great last year. He had three really good quarters against a rookie qb and a horrible offense. Helu would be a nice change of pace back but im pretty happy with Almo. Jackson is a dope whose off the field problems greatly outweigh his talent. Paulsen has stepped in very nicely although i love Davis. You should go back and read the excerpt from football outsiders i posted - amazing how the last several superbowl teams - winners and losers were decimated with injuries. Whether for a matter of weeks or for the season. I agree with Matty we are not cursed injury wise, far from it. It just seems that way because we are redskins fans. Look around the league rite now at some other teams with major injuries. The Steelers will be playing back to back weeks with Byron Leftwich and friggin Charlie Batch at QB. The grass is always greener on the other side.
Edit : what im getting at is we can still win the nfc east even with those guys out. Now if our o-line and or RG-3 /almo goes down ill say we are cursed by the injury bug.
Rak, Garçon, etc don't have to be "great". I kinda get tired of hearing that.
Bottom line is we are better with them on the field.

We saw how the Steelers did without Ben... It's not the quantity of the injuries.. It's the quality. It has nothing to do with excuses.. It's facts! That's why there is an injury report. If it didn't have a impact on your team then we wouldn't even need one. Let's just sign the next mug to play the position. You are right in one aspect.. Every team in the NFL gets injuries, but when you get injuries to key positions then it becomes a great influence on your teams performance.
Kerrigan is missing Orakpo right now, and even worse.. He's missing Carriker. The guy who lined up right beside him all year last year and had 6 sacks is gone.
This topic should be dead though.. People are going to argue till their faces turn purple but only the ones who understand the impact certain injuries have will be right.
Everyone saw the impact Merriweather had on our team with him being on the field, and that was just one small piece to the puzzle. If you think not having a 100% Garcon on the field after his first and only performace against the Saints wouldn't make a difference.. You're crazy..
Not to mention Paulsen is filling in nice, but he's not leading our team in receiving yards or reception like Davis was. Take out the pieces of our team in comparison to other teams, and NO TEAM has ever won many games misses the same pieces.. Missing a T, OLB, or a few others? Sure, but..
RT
Pro Bowl LB
DE
Pro Bowl Safety
TE
3RD down back
#1 WR
I mean, we are missing KEY parts.. It's not like we are missing a few players or even key players.. We are basically missing our BEST players! The select few that would be starter quality on other teams.
Injuries are not excuses.. Playing hurt, and then blaming it on the injury is an excuse, but if you can't even be on the field.. That's not an excuse. That's a pure and simple FACT.
punch it in 11-20-2012, 10:36 PM Wow what a rant. I think i could call you the greatest guy in the world and you would pick it apart and put it back together again in your own words. We are not missing our best players bucket. RG-3 / Almo / and TW are all very healthy.
Edit: are our injuries detrimental to the team - yes. Are they historically or abnormally bad? - no. Have teams had success with injuries paramount to the ones we have rite now - absolutely. Do i think we can finish strong with these injuries - hell yes I do.

Name a team... I might believe you then.. You can say "it works" but proving it is two different things. Name a team that was missing there leading Sack Artist, Best DLman, Best WR, Best TE, and Best RB before Almo started doing so well, which isn't a surprise because who doesn't look good in Shanny's system? Seriously.. We all loved Helu last year and what he did. To deny it would be false.
Edit : Might as well add Best DB too, because in one half, Merriweather looked better then any DB we've had on the field this year.
Edit 2 : I'm sorry you think that was a rant. That is what a legit post looks like. I know you are not use to seeing one as you've never actually posted one yourself. Keep to the 10 character posts you're use too.. Keep quoting yourself too. You can get that post count higher.
Just saying.
punch it in 11-21-2012, 12:03 AM First of all I didnt love Helu last year love is a strong word - one i will reserve for players like RG-3 and Almo and 21 and 44 among others that do not include the great Roy Helu.
Second of all are u asking me to point out teams missing the exact position players we are - lmao.
Third of all the word legit and your posts dont belong in the same forum let alone the same sentence.
And last but certainly not least if my post count bothers you as much as it appears to - sleep easy tonite because this is the last time I will respond to one of your crazy rants.
Peace.

You're throwing Almo in the same field as 44 and 21?
Interesting..
Helu had the same amount of total yards in the same amount of games played as Almo at this point..
Just saying.
punch it in 11-21-2012, 01:05 AM Since you seem to actually want to talk about football - i love what Almo is doing this year. I love what 21 and 44 did over their careers - am I putting them in the same class - absolutely not. I love what I see so far though. Just like RG-3 has a very small career sample rite now - but how can I not say "i love this guy" when i watch him play. Say the same thing when I watch Almo. No - I never watched Helu and said - wow - i love this guy.
Almo is a more durable back than Helu - ive mentioned Helu's durability issues several times. Also - Helu was a fourth rounder out of Nebraska - Almo was a sixth rounder out of FAU. How can you not love the guy? I hope Helu comes back strong and contributes next year.
Bishop Hammer 11-25-2012, 11:31 PM Not even close to being where we are at with impact injuries. Some of the guys on that list are back, and the ones that are out for the season are backups. The starters that are out this Thursday that will hurt them are:
Sean Lee -season
Tyron Smith - they'll get back
DeMarco Murray - they'll get back
Kenyon Coleman - season
(possibly Costa)
Why are people comparing our injuries to others? Most of these injuries I see are the second string guys. I mean who really gives a **** if our 2nd string OT, WR, TE, LB goes down? Sure you need depth, but the drop off in talent from the starters to backups is generally great. Who you think is going to make a team fall of the map faster? Having your starters out or having your backups out? You think having Nield out is going to be a bigger impact than having Kerrigan out?
Let me know when Dallas loses DeMarcus Ware, Dez Bryant, Jason Witten, Doug Free, Gerald Sensabaugh, Danny McCray,. That's essentially what we have lost and more. Hell, at least they'll get many of those starters not playing Thursday back, we won't. Not this season.
**** these shitty injuries.
