44Deezel 11-05-2012, 10:37 PM Did Shanny say they shed $100mil worth of salaries in his first year and none of the players they cut were picked up by other teams? I believe he also said there were no players left on Offense from his first year, but that can't be right. Fred Davis, Santana Moss and Chris Cooley come to mind.
punch it in 11-05-2012, 10:46 PM hey when yall mail things, who do you use? Fed ex, ups, or the post office? Ive found ups usually does the best, but the flat rate boxes by the post office is tempting me
lmao
punch it in 11-05-2012, 10:50 PM Not to nitpick but I'm not The GOAT (as in greatest of all time), I'm The Goat because way back in college friends called me goat because I ate everything in sight lol
You really do learn something new every day...........
jdc65 11-05-2012, 11:19 PM I don't think the players have mailed it in, but I do believe the players have lost confidence in the coaching staff. What I think happens is that in the beginning, everyone buys in to what a new regime is preaching, and plays their assignments to the best of their ability. But after repeated failure, they lose confidence in the system they are running, and play for themselves more than anything.
They are still giving 100%, but looking to make plays for themselves than for the team. It's a complete breakdown because football is such a team game. Once confidence is lost in the coaches or the schemes, it's over.

Our best targets on offense, Davis and Tana, were inherited. We can hope all we want for Garcon, but nothing about his stats indicates he'll be a more productive receiver than Moss.
That said, I'm not dumping on our WR corp or downfield targets. I was pessimistic about this group before the season because we don't have a dominant (big) WR or a true burner. But we have plenty of talent to compete. WR talent, in fact offensive talent in general (Polumbus being the exception) is solid IMO.
GTripp0012 11-06-2012, 08:33 AM Once you realize Shanny is not the guy it all becomes so obvious doesnt it?It was always pretty obvious.
The illusion fell for me after the disasterous 2010 season, allowing me to look at all the moves since then in context. It was always pretty obvious.
HailGreen28 11-06-2012, 10:37 AM I'm just repeating what someone else said. We need to fire our disfunctional fanbase.
Impulsive, heat-of-the-moment, keep this team going from one HC to another, Dan Snyder has plenty of supporters here. This is a surprise to me.
The Giants would have never won their last superbowl if similar minded NY fans had their way halfway through last season.
giants would have never won without eli and a properly built D-Line .....
HailGreen28 11-06-2012, 10:58 AM giants would have never won without eli and a properly built D-Line .....You know what I mean. NY fans were calling for Coughlin's head halfway through last season. And in '07 as I recall.
I'm not saying we're making the playoffs. Those two "5 in a row or we don't go" runs were special. But we still look just as stupid now as Giants fans did last year.

Teams lose - fans bitch. Teams win - fans stop bitching. Were no different than anyother fanbase.
If Shanny wins a superbowl we will all eat crow ok. I wouldnt hold my breath though.
