SmootSmack 04-09-2013, 11:19 AM They've shown more interest in Duke Williams than anyone else this off-season, including current NFL players.
They like Phillip Thomas a lot too, and Wilcox.
Late round sleeper could be Bradley McDougald
Chico23231 04-09-2013, 12:54 PM I would give our draft grade a T for Trill if we came away with Poyer in the second and Duke Williams/Phillip Thomas in the 3rd.
SkinzWin 04-09-2013, 01:04 PM DJ Swearinger please.
We'd be lucky if he fell to us in the 3rd round. I think he'd be a reach in the 2nd.

See I'm not too sold on this Wilcox guy. Phillip Thomas I like a lot but I gave Eric Reid the slight advantage over him since he play in the SEC and didn't suffer a major foot injury.
I've heard of McDougald w/ the Redskins before; he's a safety from Kansas. I wouldn't mind him late in the draft.
CultBrennan59 04-09-2013, 11:26 PM David Amerson (DB) of NC State and Phillip Thomas safety from Fresno St. are visiting us according to Chris Russell.
KI Skins Fan 04-10-2013, 09:04 AM DJ Swearinger please.
The following is from a Washington Times article about your boy, DJ:
Swearinger wasn’t particularly colorful during his media session at the scouting combine in February, but his sales pitch was concise and clear.
"I’m the best safety in this draft because I’m a leader first and foremost," said Swearinger, who captained South Carolina’s defense. "I have instincts that coaches can’t coach. You can’t coach instincts. I have great ball skills, great feet and hips. I’m going to stay in that film room and be a hard worker day in an day out."
He has experience playing every position in the secondary, especially both safety positions, which suits how Redskins defensive coordinator Jim Haslett likes to disguise coverages. And, of course, that versatility also helps after the snap.
"First of all you’ve got to have great instincts, great ball skills," Swearinger said. "You’ve got to read coverages. You’ve got to be able to run, tackle in the open field and play the ball when it’s in the air."
That is impressive stuff.

So, is he expected to be around in the 2nd or 3rd? He clearly has confidence in his abilities and understands the position. The team captain experience is solid. However, I am curious as to whether the scouts agree with his self assessment.

His projected draft round varies from as high as 2nd to as low as 4th, according to the "draft guru" rankings I've seen. Most sites seem to see him going in the 3rd round, right now.
That said, there's no telling when he'll be picked. Each NFL team has its own draft board and decision making process.
