RGIII 04-08-2013, 01:47 AM IMO are FO is probably thinking if we had more pressure up front are Secondary would of looked better. They will address the secondary but not as much as we think/wish.
That's what I'm thinking.
tc2deuce 04-08-2013, 02:26 AM CB in the 2nd RD Safety in the 3rd or vice versa
This draft is stacked with secondary talent !

FWIW, I added my initial notes on these players:
1. Johnathan Banks - Great athlete, heady, plays under control.
2. Jamar Taylor - Average CB, willing tackler.
3. Jordan Poyer - Exciting player, great PR.
4. BW Webb - Looks and plays small.
5. Nickell Robey - Excellent college player but too small.
6. Leon McFadden - Talented but raw.
7. Tyrann Mathieu - Small, character issues.
8. Darius Slay - No notes.
9. Robert Alford - Great cover skills, speed.
10. Tharold Simon - Big, covers well. Poor tackler.
Here are a few more who I like:
1. Bidi Wreh-Wilson - Good cover, run support. Good hands?
2. Logan Ryan - Covers, blitzes well. Good tackler.
3. Adrian Bushell - Fast, covers, tackles. Great ST, KR/PR.
As I mentioned, those were my first notes when I started to look at them. Since then, more information has become known about some of them.
Banks apparently has marginal speed. That would be the only reason we could have a shot at drafting him. If he had run a 4.4 forty, he'd surely go in the 1st Round.
Unfortunately for him, Robert Alford has Crohn's Disease. I have no idea how that will affect his ability to play in the NFL. He's a heckuva football player, though. If the Skins were to draft him, I'd be very pleased.
Not new news, but:
Despite the negatives about him, Tyrann Matthews is a football player. He has great instincts and determination and he could be a steal for some team.
Leon McFadden only played one season at CB. He is very talented and would be a great pickup in the 5th or 6th Round, IMO.
Likewise, Adrian Bushell is an exciting, multi-talented player who might be there as late as the 6th Round. He could really help on ST while he develops.
I know this post is long, but I'm really excited about the DB's in this year's draft who I think could help the Skins.
mredskins 04-08-2013, 11:10 AM According to Peter King and others not a great draft to have a high number; very few can't miss guys. Should be a strong second round draft. Another high five for our front office; it was a good year to give up a first round pick for a superstar QB.
2013 NFL Draft lacks elite prospects, but features good depth - NFL - Peter King - SI.com (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/nfl/news/20130408/2013-nfl-draft-peter-king-monday-morning-quarterback/?sct=hp_t11_a3&eref=sihp)

McFadden has played in the secondary since he was a freshman. You sure you aren't thinking about JJ Wilcox who only played one year as a senior in the secondary?

I wouldn't be surprised if I'm confused. I'm an old geezer, you know.
BTW, Wilcox looks like a very good late round safety prospect.
Dirtbag59 04-08-2013, 12:54 PM Pugh is a very good player but he has T. Rex arms, only about 30", if I recall correctly. That bothers me about him at OT. Maybe they want him at OG.
Lol

Yeah, I'll make me safety list later. I can already tell you that Rambo and Elam are at the top.

haha Yep that video could apply to a lot of WRs in the NFL as well.
