CultBrennan59 11-24-2012, 02:45 AM just remember those aren't NFL defenses he's doing that to. reggie bush looked even better doing the same type of thing, but the speed advantage really isn't as great in the nfl. still looks like a good player though.
Your right, because him like all college players are going against college defenses, much like the current nfl guys had to do when they were in college...
joeyt56 11-24-2012, 03:38 AM Who knows the answere to this question?
Pop Quiz:
Player A- REC = 30 YDS = 433 AVG = 14.4 LNG = 47 TD = 4
Player B- REC = 11 YDS = 237 AVG = 21.5 LNG = 68 TD = 3
Name the players.

yes, and if he keeps up at that pace, we won't be getting him, so it's a moot point either way. of course he's better than banks and austin, who, if i'm not mistaken WEREN'T DRAFTED.
bush and bennet prove that speed alone don't translate, though it does look like he has other skill, it's not like we'll be getting him unless he gets hurt or starts sucking.

Well B is Aldrick
donofriose 11-24-2012, 05:08 PM Elam has been the most impressive safety in this draft. Just had an interception in the UF vs FSU game. A lot of NFL talent playing in that game. Only can hope Elam runs a bad 40 and he drops to the second round.

Speed alone does not translate by itself. But watching Austin, he doesn't have only speed, he runes routes pretty well, solid hands, and has open field moves. Could be a great player similar to the role that Harvin, Sproles, or Cobb do for their team.
Austin may not go 1st round because of doubts of his skills translating, his value as a slot receiver and his size. Jackson, Sproles and Cobb were are drafted outside the 1st round and have similar skill sets to Austin.
GWinSkins83 11-25-2012, 09:46 AM Robert Woods would be a great pick in the 3rd. That could be our Percy Harvin.
30gut 11-26-2012, 01:31 PM 2nd: BPA: CB, DB, DL, RT, S
3rd: BPA: minus round 2 selection (unless DL)
4th: BPA: minus rounds 2 & 3 selections + ILB, TE, RB + CB, DL, S (even if previously selected)
5th: BPA
5th: BPA
6th: Collin Klein (depending on the OC i.e. if we're still running a lot of zone-read stuff)
7th: BPA

2nd - BPA other than QB or RB
3rd - BPA other that QB or RB
4th BPA other than QB or RB
5th - BPA
6th - BPA
7th - BPA
I expect Mike to trade down in the second and pick up a 3rd or 4th rounder, or down in the 3rd and pick up a 4th or 5th rounder, depending on how large the drop.
