The defense was much better playing a 4-3 so MS has to take blame for this. I'd have to say for 7 mil a year Snyder isn't getting a good return on investment.
Hey Ho, Haslett has to go! (or maybe not)Pages :

Has he ever? Perfect examples are Haynesworth and Hall. skinsfan69 10-29-2012, 08:52 PM As much as Haslett needs to go, I'd honestly be more concerned about getting better players and what's the plan on doing that. Who are the top free agents? Is it possible to move up in the draft? Demarcus Milliner from Alabama looks like a pretty damn good corner. mooby 10-29-2012, 08:53 PM Well, they're 1-6 and just fired their GM. It makes sense if you bring in a new GM, you let him clean house and bring in his own guys. Barring a big turnaround Rivera is likely done. Oh yeah I forget about them firing Hurney. Good call on that. Lotus 10-29-2012, 08:53 PM I'd kill if we could get the pilsbury dough boy from Houston. Awesome thought but I don't see it happening in-season. REDSKINS4ever 10-29-2012, 08:57 PM The problem isn't the 3-4. The problem is reserves not being able to play up to the level of injured starters. Jarvis Jenkins hasn't done squat in replacing Adam Carriker and while Rob Jackson and Chris Wilson are good backups, neither has generated the pass rush of Orakpo. Cofield and Bowen have played well. Kerrigan, Fletcher, and Riley have also played well. But Hall, Wilson, Madieu Williams, and Doughty have played poorly. I don't think you can fire Haslett. While he's coordinates the defense, he isn't responsible for schooling the defensive backs. That falls on Raheem Morris and if the defensive backfield is under performing, then it falls on the secondary coach and not the defensive coordinator. Ruhskins 10-29-2012, 09:10 PM I'm fine with staying in the 3-4, but let's get some players that fit in the system. I know he's a good player, but Cofield is not a 3-4 NT. We also need ILBs that can do a better job at covering TEs. The thing that sucks is that these areas are not even our biggest needs on D (secondary). Still, personnel-wise we haven't done a good job at bringing the right players for this system. mooby 10-29-2012, 09:20 PM I'm fine with staying in the 3-4, but let's get some players that fit in the system. I like Cofield, but also wish we had a true 3-4 NT type, like Casey Hampton. Dirtbag59 10-29-2012, 09:22 PM I still say it doesn't matter what sort of front we run as long as the secondary stinks. If we changed to a 4-3 right now, do you really think anything would be different? I pointed this out before but right now we don't really have 4-3 personnel, mainly due to the fact that we're short on traditional linebackers. I mean lets see. OLB - Perry Riley (Coverage liability) MLB - Fletcher OLB - Orakpo LDE - Carriker DT - Bowen DT - Cofield RDE - Kerrigan Ironically we have great depth on the defensive line, so much that it would be hard to give our best players up front snaps while on the back end we have an average at best LB corps. Then again that could be rectified with one offseason so maybe a switch is in the cards but theres no doubt about the fact that this team has made the transition to the 3-4. 53Fan 10-29-2012, 09:29 PM what about Bob Diaco of notre dame? heard whispers about him, but dont know much. except they do run a 3-4 Notre Dame Needs to Enjoy Bob Diaco While They Still Have Him | Bleacher Report (http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/1346825-notre-dame-needs-to-enjoy-bob-diaco-while-they-still-have-him) |
