Should Mike Shanahan be fired?

Is there anything else to discuss on this? We had the poll and the moronic sycophants overwhelmingly voiced their opinion.

We get it. MS hasn't won a playoff game in forever, the defense sucks and we're not improving. MS hasn't done anything right and all our limited success is attributable entirely to RGIII.

You're points have been made, again ... and again ... and again.

Respectfully, I, and others more insightful than myself, disagree. Mike came in saying it was a five year plan and he needed the entire five years. He inherited a old, talented team with no depth. The players he cut are, for the most part, not in football. The last two years we have built depth and, more significantly, changed the culture of Redskins park. Shanahan has not won but is setting the franchise up to win for the long term and, for the long term, it stunk beyond belief when he took over. He needs to start winning but he doesn't need the playoff this year. Further, this year, he has created/adapted an offense that emphasizes the strengths of RGIII allowing him to succeed in ways he would not have been able to if he had been thrown straight into a "traditional" drop back offense.

I know you (Goat, GTripp, and Devie) will never agree that this warrants additional time, and, frankly - given your arrogance and complete disrespect for the intelligence of those who disagree with you, I don't care. Pat yourselves on the back and tell yourselves how brilliant you are - all seven of you.

This thread is degeneratng redundtant rehashing of the same points. Perhaps it is time to shut it down.

Were younger, the team stunk, winning isnt everything, RG-3 is great, two more years. Your points and others more ingenious than us short sighted wanna be fans who have it out for MS are equally as redundant. In case you havent noticed. Im sure they will gain redundancy over the coming 24 months. It takes two to tango JS. Both sides keep posting the same stuff. Just because you point out that the haters keep doing so and than implore the court for the last word doesnt mean that MS will start to win football games though. Btw if he loses to Carolina this week you better have one hell of a pep talk/ declaration of Shanapendance written for all the haters. I mean it had better really drive home all the aforementioned things that we have to be happy about. You know the list, but just to be redundant - younger- better qb- CLOSER to actually winning- just not winning - no vinny - etc.

^^ Brilliant observations. Your comments really add new insight into the discussion and provide a perspective not yet considered. Overall, a strong post.

The 'closer to actually winning' gets me every time.

If we make a big move in the coaching staff, then I might start to see the light at the end of tunnel.

I see a light with Griff. Thats for sure. I consider myself neutral really on the Shanny issue. I tend to come to the defense of the doubters simply because last time I checked wins and losses are what its all about. I can see the big picture and pick up on arguments from both sides. But the recent run with Shanny - going back 13 years with one playoff win really outweighs what he inherited in DC imo. If he had success elsewhere and just decided on a change of scenery or a new "project" and wanted a big paycheck from Snyder than I would completely be in the "he is on the rite track" train. But its hard to overlook how and why it ended for him in Denver.

You kind of prove what JR was saying. Both sides know what the other is saying. Nothing new is being added by ANYBODY moronic syncophants or debbie downer retards (or any of the other 99% of the warpath members). We all want the team to win now, and long term. JR's point is can we table these one note themes now that votes have been cast and thoughts have been rehashed over and over. I think the mods could and should step in at this point and call a cease fire over the Shanny bow, at least until the regular season ends, and if someone breaks it, personally I'm in favor of a ban until the season ends.

Lets all move forward, and get back to enjoying Redskins discussions on the Warpath.

I think there is a clear and concise point being made by JR that he believed Shanny is on the rite track and that a few of us dont? If he wants the discussion tabeled than just say that minus all of his equally redundant pro - shanny points. Otherwise you are just inviting a return and again equally as reduntant from the shanny-doubters.
As for a ban on someone - thats a tad bit over the top - that is why you have to leave this thread open. Funnell all your Opinions on Shanny here. If you are sick to death of it than simply ignore this particular thread. Seems more of a practical way of handling the whole situation imo.

Edit: what you propose is basically if someone says "Shanny is awesome" they should be banned because that will spurn a "why" comment - and well you can imagine the rest. Lol.

I'm never in favor of a ban as we lose the opportunity for public scourging of posters, that's much more fun.

We're supposed to be enjoying this? Oh........

LOL especially when Shanny's record is actually worse than any of his predecessor's.

"Moving in the opposite direction, but getting closer!"

What, you don't understand that? Well then let's just shut down the thread lmao. The equivelant of taking his ball and going home...I LOL every time I read that dude's stuff.

The point was everybody wanted to bash MS for mcnabb and rex/beck. But nobody wants to give him credit for rg-3.
Well if any of those qb's won he would have gotten credit. None of them have won. Atleast not more than they have lost. So i ask again credit for what?

The fact is, EVERYONE can see that RG3 is going to be an absolute lock of an elite QB. Shoot, he already is. If he can do this well in his rookie season, look out world. Our point is, even with RG3's stupendous games and performances, far and away better than even the most optimistic of redskins fans ever expected, we are still winning 33% of our games in year 3, are a week away from being 3-6 and almost out of the race in a weak NFC East. We have no depth in the secondary, and I really hope we keep winning the game of russian roulette with our Olines health. Getting off point a little, but here's the thing.

With the talent at QB, ANY coach could be 3-5. RG3 is making it VERY easy for Shanahan, and we are still not winning. We are in the cellar of the NFCE yet again, with the cowboys and the eagles both ripe for the taking. Mike Shanahans inability to take advantage of certain situations, and then blaming other people or injuries or whoever he wants to pin it on is wearing thin, especially when you currently hold one of the hottest, if not THE hottest weapon in the entire NFL. With RG3, I would say many coaches could be 5-3 or even 6-2 at this point, maybe even 7-1, RG3 has done that well. It takes a special kind of coach to have RG3, and still lose like we have been losing. And for the renowned Shanahan discipline, ummmm, what discipline? I can attribute 2 losses directly to horrible discipline, idiot penalties and lack of focus. And one on a kicker that HE himself brought in, yet another Shanahan signing, which blew up in his face. The guy makes questionable move after questionable move, keeps the skins in the cellar of the NFCE, yet he needs more time. Time to what? To tutor RG3? Gimme a break. Im tired of giving him a pass, ESPECIALLY now that he has his QB, and the team continues its march down Underperform Street.
