Should Mike Shanahan be fired?

To add to that, don't say Shanahan had the benefit of coaching in the weak AFC and then laud Jeff Fisher his accomplishments in the AFC. Don't say Shanahan was at fault for poor QB play last year and then deny his influence of the strong QB play this year. Don't say we need to get rid of a has been in Mike Shanahan and then suggest we should consider Bill Cowher. And don't say that if you agree with a moderator's opinion you're just a sycophant.

Nah, I never said Cowher or anyone like him. I would like a new guy, preferably someone with a great football mind, up and coming, possibly college or coordinator ranks. I don't think goat or tripp said cowher, but I do believe that Cowher AND Gruden might do better than shanny. Defensive minded coach shoring up the defense, and get a good coordinator to fine tune RG3 and the offense. But the defense needs a looking at. Its true that teams win with porous defenses, but our offense isn't clicking on all cylinders just yet to be able to overcome the travesty that is our current defensive state. We do not have the receivers to accomodate that angle, but I believe we have a nice start with the QB and RB, and even TE if Davis can recover and isn't looking for top 5 TE pay.

Point is, I'm just tired of waiting. Seems like it never takes other teams so damn long to just contend for the division, or even a wildcard spot. I do hope we pull it together, but I do believe that the coaching staff is leaning way too much on Griffins playmaking ability, and not as much on executing a good gameplan that mixes some stuff up. Our success seems much more ad lib than anything, and I don't think that long term that is the answer. RG3 won't be able to sustain that, or cover up for so many other areas for too much longer. Our offensive line is still a concern whether people see it or not, RG3 has been pressured and slammed PLENTY, but he puts points on the board, so it gets overshadowed. Its still an area that needs severe coaching up, or upgrading, or both.

There are lots of things to question. It is the unrelenting, complete and utter failure to credit anything that the organization has done right under MS/BA that is drawing ire.

Let me speak in the same language that has been leveled at me and see if it makes it easier for you to see why I find the posts blasting Shanahan so obnoxious:

If you can't see that this organization is in a better place than it was 3 years ago, then you are a moronic Cerrato apologist.

Believe me I do understand Joe....wait! Did you just imply something bad about Vinny? :angry-smi

Didn't we try that? Oh, lets go back and try that again.

don't let the liberal media tell you how to think and feel, if you have hate in your heart let it out!

if you don't like mike shanahan, don't mean there's something wrong with you, means there's something wrong with mike shanahan; he's not undefeated!

Seriously. Whether u hate him or love him its because u love the skins. U either dont think he can do it so u want him gone sooner than later. The fastest way to the new track is always to get off the wrong one asap. Or you love him despite his wins and losses because you believe not to give up now and let him finish his job. If its not in the cards though- look out. Two more years further away. Two years of rg-3 wasted by starting over again at that point. I dont know what i think anymore. To call someone on either side foolish is nonsense though. Seems like everyone is more anxious to say i told you so than for the redskins to win. However that happens - with or without MS.

I guess I'll never understand blaming Mike/Kyle for everything that went wrong with McNabb/Beck/Rex, and then refusing to give any credit for the success of RG3.

He is losing with all of them. Everything else wrong with the team is on Shanny. So is everything thats rite. But at 3-5 there is more wrong than rite. Either way we will kniw in two years.

lol I think some fans are still ill because Gibbs went all in and gave away our future draft picks.

That was the culture when he came back. He was already in a hole. He just dug alittle further looking for the lombardi trophy someone told Danny about that was buried deep in there.

I don't get it either.

Nobody cares if we lose know matter how good or bad the qb is? Coaches deserve credit when they win - not when they have a great qb? Shanny got roasted with Mcnabb. Got roasted for rex/beck. Now he has a stud qb and is 3-5 and what? Credit for losing with a great offense? Lol.

What I see developing here for Mike Shannahan is this: The defense obviously has issues, and would be a hell of a lot better without the injuries. The offense is average without Griffin, perhaps one of the best (top 5) in the NFL now with Griffin. The media is going to push this whole "its all RG3 and he's not getting any help" stuff down the throats of the rest of the team until resentment sets in. The media is going to create a rift in the locker room, Shannahan added to it with his post-game comments (he needs some help), so expect things to get worse as the season progresses. It going to be near impossible to improve that defense with the draft pick situation and the cap penalty.

Shannahan faces an uphill battle to keep his job after this season. One has to ask: Can't just about anyone be competitive with RG3 playing the way he is? The 3-4 defense experiment is a disaster, we never had the right personnel (Orakpo as a linebacker?? come on...), and there's little opportunity to improve.

Well, yeah.
