Ok, I'm sorry what is that in reference to? Is that related to something earlier in the thread?

And Jon Gruden coming wouldn't be any different than Shanahans stint here.

I think the real question should be, why did Mike agree to coach this team knowing that it was in total shambles and needed a major overhaul?

My biggest gripe with Shanny from day one is that he didn't declare it a rebuild, and traded valuable picks for a aging QB and broken down LT. Why not just suck it up, keep JC and bring in Rex to battle for the spot, and build through the draft and FA. Just hold tight until a QB could be drafted (like this year) and roll from there.

However, I had read some answer from his initial interviews when he first got here and KNEW it was going to take more than 3 years to clean out the old aging vets, and get young talent. When the said he told his son Kyle not to come that this place was a mess. It says a whole lot.

“I’m the one that told Kyle not to come,” he said. ”I said, ‘This is going to be a work in progress. It’s not going to happen over night. And you were on an established team. You’ve got your ducks in order.’”

So again, why in the hell did he take this "trap" of a job? I assume it's because he had a huge chip on his shoulder to prove people wrong. He may have bit off more than he could chew with this mess we had. I firmly believe you don't correct 20 years of horrible culture and mismanagement with 2-1/2 years. It's not going to happen.

Joe Gibbs started Campbell in 2006 essentially because the season was over, and to give in to a fan base that wanted to believe Mark Brunell was the problem even though he really wasn't.

Consider that at the times Gibbs resigned in 2008, he did make mention that he would have held a QB compeition between Todd Collins and JC had he stayed as coach. I believe Gibbs knew that Campbell was not the answer deep down. Joe preferred veteran QB's because throughout his tenure as head coach it was always the veterans who performed well, played smart, and didn't make mistakes that cost the team...

If Gibbs was still coaching, there would have been no Jim Zorn. No Shanahan. No Bruce Allen and Vinny would still be here unless Snyder just so happened to get rid of him. Todd Collins went on to play terribly for the Bears and Campbell is on his second team since leaving the Redskins. At some point Gibbs would have to be smart and take a hard look at the Rothliesburgers, Rivers, E. Manning, and begin to realize that drafting a QB high and starting him right away would be the best course of action.

He wouldn't be able to do that because he pissed all his draft picks away. Aging old vets or to move up into a draft before he even knows who'll be on the board. He is a HUGE reason we are in the mess we are in today.

Yes there was reference to a Redskin player who got high and than drove home and got lost in his neighborhood for two hours. Lmao. SS has told us that it was a defensive player who is not on the team anymore. Also he had done something like this at another time. Not sure if there is such a person or SS is just having fun watching us all throw names out there?
Edit: Gruden might fail miserably or he might not - it would definitely be different though.

Im confused. Is the deal here that a player leaked this info to LL about Griff being frustrated or is this just LL's take on the current situation in Skinsville?

Its from a direct conversation I had with Griff on Monday at the park before he left. I'm not going to put all of it out there but a lot of guys are not happy. The Banks stuff I was referring to was Griffin saying he ran the wrong route at the end of the game, nothing big.

First time checking out the site, great job. HTTR

Any route that involves Banks even being on the field is the wrong route...please cut him already.

totally agree...never should of made the team. As far as the smoking player, it is hard to just pick one, especially back when Gibbs & Zorn were here. The specific player I was talking about with that story was S.Hyer. Some how know all the smokers on the team past and present so plenty of defensive players as well. You might might of been thinking of the Defensive guy who use to sell to his teamates..
