Outside The Lines - Why FieldTurf is better than AstroTurf - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MrM7YyP94Hc)no, i understand why anyone would dislike astroturf, it's like putting a thin carpet over concrete. i meant i want to hear what the players are saying negatively about fieldturf. fieldturf is like putting a sponge on top of a mattress.

the only thing i can think of is that those little black pieces get in your socks and shoes, but so does dirt on natural grass... and it's not that big of a deal.

[QUOTE=CultBrennan59;956861]2 things I want to state:

1) I was watching, I want to say ESPN; if not Foxsports; and they did a report on astro turf and how it causes players to get Lisfranc injuries and ACL tears greater than grass fields. Garcon got injured in New Orleans, which is turf. How soon until the NFL says "all fields must be grass"

2) I've mentioned this before, but isn't it a tad odd that our banner, of the 6 guys listed there, 4 of them are injured and/or done for the year...

- New Orleans is fieldturf, not astroturf. They are completely different surfaces. Fieldturf is just as safe as Grass. I think the only place that still uses astroturf is Buffalo but I think they changed it last year.

Garcon just gets hurt. Don't blame the turf.
Then maybe it was the other way around...all I remember is it WASNT grass

I hate those little black things. They multiply like frikkin gremlins.

I think they believe it's vertigo

I just did some quick reading on vertigo and found about 8 things that can cause vertigo symtoms. Some not so bad and at least one or two that sound pretty serious. Hopefully he comes out of this in good shape.

sometimes when people have balancing issues, it has been linked to back problems--a bone could be larger/smaller or out of place broken or a disc in the back can cause it

I heard on NFL Fletcher was full go at practice. But if he's got a bad hammy and vertigo, I mean, how well can the man play?

Hopefully, if it is vertigo, he can get better quick!!! And be 100% after the bye.

There are meds he can take for the vertigo. If a sore hammy is all he's got, I think he'll try to be out there.
