I know that it is weak to blame the officials but I'm going to make an exception this time. IMO, poor officiating cost us this game because we should have been ahead by more than a TD going into the 4th Qtr. If we had been ahead at that time, I think RGIII and Morris would have kept us there.

The procedure call on Fred Davis in the 2nd Qtr was as nit-picking as it gets and it cost us a TD. Then, the phantom leg-whipping call on Tyler Palumbus cost us a 1st Down at the Giants 12-yard line. The supposed foul by Palumbus was far away from the play and he never even touched the defensive player. That's between 7-14 points taken away by poor officiating.

Meanwhile, the Giants' RT had a choke hold on Kerrigan on pass plays all game long but that was never called.

The outrageous call on Palumbus was the turning point of the game. I thought that Mike Shanahan should have given the officials an earful after the TD was called back just to give them something to think about for the rest of the game. If he had, perhaps the phantom foul on Palumbus wouldn't have been called.

As Moss crossed the goal line I shouted, "No! We scored too fast!"

I said the same thing.

This is essentially the same secondary we had last year, so why were they so much better last year?

Carriker and Orakpo were healthy. And we had my main man Westbrook

Also, I should add that letting the Giants go 8-12 on 3rd down was absurd.

You gotta score TDs though. Last week a big reason we won was that the Vikings settled for FGs. This past weekend we did

The procedure call was definitely lame.

The leg whip, eh, he did stick his leg up as he rolled. That's going to be called when the refs see it. It wasn't totally egregious but I can understand that one.

They were just as bad when Carriker and Orakpo were playing this year, although thats an admittedly smaller sample size. Could it be related to raheems scheme/coaching?

Well Raheem won't be coaching the secondary next year so it won't be an issue for too long...

But really, I don't think it's related to Raheem. The only thing I guess I'd put on him is he vouched for Tanard Jackson. But that's more so Tanard letting him down I suppose

I'm going to assume Raheem is either going to get fired (because Haslett feels threatened by him), or the whole defensive coaching staff is getting canned, or he got a job offer from a college team or something since no NFL team would probably give him a coordinator job based off how the secondary is playing right now.

Fair enough. I think I'll just assume Raheem won't be back as the secondary coach next year. Of course, that could mean he might get promoted to d-coordinator and we're going back to a 4-3. But either way, it won't affect this season, so I'm going to forget about the issue until after the season is over.
