rgiii kept us in it, but the turnovers are the biggest thing. our secondary sucks, but if the skins didn't hand the ball over 3 times, well, you know... winning.

Good call! I was thinking the same thing when Rak and Kerrigan went down...

When did Kerrigan go down?

Apologies. Just seen a few posts/tweets that blame the FO for the safety position, and haven't seen any suggestions as to what they could have actually done better.

Apology accepted. I've been one of those all along more worried about our secondary than anything else. I don't know what the FO could have done differently ... kept Landry? Made a stonger play for B. Carr? The troll calling for signing B. Sanders ... please.

I don't know how they could have fixed it ... but it needed to be fixed. They made an effort to do it on the cheap and gambled.

With that said, it has been 3 years and we have gotten worse, not better in our defensive backfield over those 3 years. Is that Allen's fault? Shanahan's? Haslett's? To me, unless you can figure out why it's gone wrong, you can't really begin to fix it.

And to be clear, I am NOT calling for Haslett's head. The more I watch, the more it seems like he is doing his best to make lemon ade out of a bunch of lemons.

Shanahan messed up the first two years that he has been here, but we are now in year #1 with a rookie QB. He isn't going anywhere after this season, maybe next year if we have a losing record.

The FO has made some early mistakes too with the trade for McNabb, but overall have made our team a lot younger and we don't over pay for FA's that's a big win in my book. I think if we didn't have the cap penalty we would have addressed more needs this offseason, but couldn't.

Thank u!!!!! People need to realize rg3 or not we should of been a rebuilf team year 1 ans this year is it thats not good. We will suck till we have a FO that can give us a very good D and give rg3 better weapons.

Cap penalty probably cost us Carr.

Osi Umenyiora on RGIII: "That guy is flat-out unbelievable. I’m not even going to lie. That’s the best quarterback we’ve played this year."

Both of our safeties are out. Who exactly should they have brought in that would have done any better? I floated this before (not you) and still haven't received a answer to this.

The jets are starting two fa safeties and are at least doing adequate at the position. The jags and texans each brought in fa safeties a year ago and produced top defenses. You do have to find guys that fit the scheme, which is what we were hoping to do with Jackson, but when you load up on the meriweathers and Williams of the world, this is the result.

Doughty is actually having a pretty good year, but Gomes has been a big disappointment.

And he's screwed up a lot this year two. A ton of the same mistakes.

The cap penalty can't be an excuse. It sucks, but it is what it is. We went from having an unfathomable amount of cap room to a realistic amount. That should not break a season.
