Well, they started talking with Davis and Orakpo this summer. And I strongly suspect something will work out with Davis because Mike Shanahan loves, Loves, LOVES Fred Davis. Not many guys on the team work harder than him. Which I know is a shock to many

Also, this

Section 6. NFL Drug and Steroid Policies: No Club may impose any discipline against a player, including but not limited to terminating the player’s Player Contract, as a result of that Player’s violation of the Policy on Anabolic Steroids and Related Sub-stances or the NFL Policy and Program on Substances of Abuse, or for failing any drug test, provided, however, that the fact that a player has violated the Policy on Anabolic Steroids and Related Substances or the NFL Policy and Program on Substances of Abuse, or has failed a drug test will not preclude the termination of his Player Contract if such termination is otherwise expressly permissible under this Agreement or the player’s Player Contract.

That's good to hear all around.

I imagine he will get 6.5-7m a year and it will wait till the bye week or offseason. I don't see him going anywhere.

I'm not that hung up on Davis. If the Skins resign him fine. If they don't I won't cry a river about it.

Hate to say it but with the injury today -- no way should Fred Davis get a long term deal. If it really is an ACL tear, it will take him at least a year, maybe two to get back to his current condition. Really sad, thought he would have a big year this year.

Is it too early to add TE to list of offseason/draft needs?

They should sign fred to a 1 year, prove it, deal. Or a 2 year with an option on the second year incase he isn't 100%

Is it too early to add TE to list of offseason/draft needs? It's not an ACL tear, it's an Achilles, which is still serious. He's still young, and should be at or near full strength by training camp, which is 9 months away. I let him walk if we wants a long term deal. Give him another 1-year deal as they did this season.

I thought it was a partial ACL tear?
