Why aren't the Redskins winning at home?

The best Fed Ex Field win in Redskins history? The inaugural game in 1997 against the Cards. Michael Westbrook's acrobatic touchdown catch from Gus Frerotte in OT has to this point been the most thrilling Redskins victory at Fed Ex Field, although it was called Jack Kent Stadium at that time.

The 2005 OT win over Jacksonville, the win against the Bears just days after burying Sean Taylor, the Troy Vincent block against the Cowboys...none of those as exciting?

So you are saying that it's Snyder's money grubbing fault, because he erased Jack Kent Cooke's name from the stadium and tore the legendary heart and soul out of the stadium for the sake of a dollar.

;) I knew it was a curse!!!

Put it this way. This Redskins franchise hasn't been exactly right since Jack Kent Cooke's death. It all started with Cooke not leaving a will and handing the team, the stadium, and Redskins park over to his son John. If that happened, there would have been no Milstein bros. buying the team although Jerry Jones, Al Davis and the rest of the owners didn't approve their purchase of the franchise. Dan Snyder was to initially be a minority owner with the Milsteins. After the owners didn't approve, everything went back to Cooke's estate. Snyder sold Snyder Communications and then bought the Redskins. And the rest is gloomy history in the making from there on out. I never understood why the NFL owners didn't approve of the Milstein purchase of the Redskins. For all we know, they would have been excellent owners.

The team hasn't seen stability since Jack Kent Cooke died. If John Kent Cooke owned the team, the Redskins would have been contenders every year. This Redskins franchise has been in disarray since Snyder purchased it.

Hey Smoot, those were some great games. You played in all of those games. But the game in 1997 was more exciting simply because it was the first game ever played at Jack Kent Cooke Stadium/Fed Ex Field and it went into overtime.

But they are good enough to win some of those games. They should have beaten Dallas at FED EX last year. They should have beaten the Vikings at FED EX last year too. They let New England get out of there with a win. They play good enough to win but end up not winning.

"Should have" is an interesting choice of words; what's the scenario in which a team loses a game but "should have" won? The implication is that the team performed well enough, but a few mental errors or seemingly forgivable mistakes made the difference in close game. But I'm not sure if a team deserves to win a game like that. If a team gets ripped off because of a bad call (ie the Packers and the Fail Mary game), then I can understand. But I can't think of any games in the eight game home losing streak in which the Redskins did enough to earn a victory.

Cause Fedex field sucks. Should have never left RFK. but the biggest reason is probably the team just has not been that good.

next big thing for cowboys stadium: seats suspended from tracks in the rafters so fans can watch the game from directly above
