SkinsRock 03-23-2004, 10:10 AM A sprinting statue? He was a quick receiver, I think he'll do ok in Tampa. Brad Johnson throws tiny passes and will allow him to use his feet to make yards.
Didn't he sign with the Bengals, not the Bucs?
AnonEmouse 03-23-2004, 10:22 AM Correct. It will be interesting if he helps or hinders Palmer.
Gmanc711 03-23-2004, 10:26 AM He will be the #3 at best their right? Behind Johnson and Warrick. I dont think he wil really make an impact thier, just be a solid ST guy.
sportscurmudgeon 03-23-2004, 01:13 PM Patrick Johnson is not a bad football player nor is he an overpaid fraud. But he is also not a guy who is critical to a team - either by his presence or his absence.
If "finding a replacement for Patrick Johnson" is the single biggest challenge and obstacle faced by the coaching staff and the team this year, they will be a cinch to:
1. Go 16-0 in the regular season,
2. Win the Super Bowl and
3. Cover the spread every weekend.
SmootSmack 03-23-2004, 01:21 PM Curmudgeon, how was Vegas?
sportscurmudgeon 03-23-2004, 01:28 PM Vegas was GREAT.
If I can figure out where the command line to start a new thread disappeared to, I'll post relevant future Super Bowl odds and comments from one sports book manager.

He will probably be competing with Kelley Washington, last year's draft pick, for the #3 spot. Washington caught 22 passes for 299 yards and 4 TDs in his rooke season last year, and he's supposed to be pretty talented, so Johnson may be #4.
offiss 03-23-2004, 03:23 PM The 1 thing that will alway's stick out in my mind about PJ is when he ran out of bounds on that kick return, I forget what team we were playing but all he had to beat was the kicker and he had him beat, and for what ever reason he ran out of bound's, as if he just decieded to quit on that play, he would have had a kick return for a TD and it was like he didn't care, I think we will be better off without him, let a guy with some heart get some playing time.
SmootSmack 03-23-2004, 05:54 PM Patrick Johnson was the one who fumbled a punt at the end against the Dolphins right? Imagine if he doesn't fumble, Skins win, they run off a string of vcitories, Spurrier stays, Gibbs is still hanging out in ATL with Arthur Blank....hell, we should give PJ a raise, that might turn out to be the best fumble in recent Redskins history :httr:
Yankskins 03-23-2004, 06:13 PM I agree. I don't think that PJ was an asset to the team at all, and getting rid of him wouldn't change much. I do think though that we NEED McCants because he is such a good 3rd or 4th reciever. He's big, athletic, and incredibly clutch. He's so extremely reliable in the endzone, which is important. I alo think we shouldn't waste our draft pick on a wide reciever, or sean taylor for that matter, but instead on Kenechi Udezi, the DE from USC. He will help us out immediatly in pass rush, and he shows a lot of potential. He is a quick and easy way to upgrade the D-Line.
