Yeah but kickers are slim to none out there so we have to keep cundiff

I meant before the season when gano and rackers were cut. They must have seen something in cundiff when they bought him here. I hear you though.

I said this yesterday and somebody (forget who) lol'd me. Lol'd me can ya believe it? Lol
Edit: bucket you lol'd me in the gameday thread. I said i thought grossman was better than cousins (obviously meaning rite now as a backup - i did say cousins was a wasted pick - i stand by that - rex would be a better back up for the short future and still think the pick could have been used for secondary / line? And we will have time to replace our backup )

I don't know, I personally think Cousins is better then Grossman. So Cousins threw 2 INT's thats exactly what we got out of Grossman each game last year so the team is no worse or better at second string QB.

In the perfect world the team would be putting up 20+ points more then their oponants and Cousins could see some action in the 4th quarter. Maybe he should get more practice time since RG3 knows the offense pretty well. Let Cousins get more practice time so if he has to come in he will be ready.

It's a good debate SS, but only if you hold on to the premise guys like Garcon, Hank, Morgan and Briscoe develop into consistent difference makers. Right now, I think it's less than 50/50 odds any of those guys become consistent difference makers. Garcon's middle name, if you will, is inconsistent. The other three are really projects of one form or another. Hopefully I'm wrong all around.

But if none become difference makers then certainly the better route was keep the the average, vet WRs around (for a fraction of the currect payroll) until you really get that guy. That's what I don't understand about the "we're building for the future" argument. I see us trying to win now, and sucking at it. Why blow a wad and gamble on a guy like Garcon, who's definitely not proven he can be a #1 WR, if you're not "reaching" to win now? If anything the regime has looked desperate for immediate improvement in it's personnel decisions.

I think you're not thinking 4th dimensionally Marty...seriously though, how often do you keep waiting for that guy. And who is that guy? I didn't agree with signing Morgan but I think adding Garcon who's shown he can be a #1 WR and can grow with RG3 over the next couple of years was a smart move both on the field and salary cap wise. You want to get guys on the upswing

Last year everyone complained about not having any speed and youth at WR. Well that's what we have now, PG and AR.

Im not necessarily saying cousins wont be better than grossman some day. Im saying that we had/have a serviceable backup in grossman already who knows the offense. I think the pick would have been better served elsewhere and we could have replaced grossman or not - its not like grossman is a sought after commodity and he basically has said he has no problem sticking around and being the backup.
You said urself the team is no better or worse at second string qb so why the pick?

in the grand scheme of things, there's actually not much i would change about this team. keeping several things in mind (cap penalties, rookie qb, new starting wrs, losing orakpo and carriker, etc.), i think we're doing alright. it's hard not to be excited about what the future holds when our qb is robert griffin iii.

we have been in every single game, never losing by more than 1 score. they're fighting hard, i admire that. that's my take on it

I agree, and our offense is way way more better than the past few years. I'm happy with this team. We have an outstanding franchise qb, good LT and a solid WR corp and rookie rb.

They also saw cundiff kick in practice everyday. So either they need glasses or things dont always translate frome the practice field to gameday. I dont think it hurts to get him in the game.

It's easy to watch a kicker who makes every FG in practice because there isn't any pressure on him, and a WR who is getting beat out by better WR's on the roster.

Keep in mind, the cap penalty is our own faulty and the stupidty of our FO and the fact Vinny and Danny still haunt us with piss poor free agent signings. Cap Penalty is nobody's fault but our own.
