Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk The Goat 10-08-2012, 02:21 PM Moss is perfectly suited for what he is now, the #3 slot receiver who can be that reliable underneath receiver who can turn on the burners for a big gain Morgan's contract is not as much of a handcuff as people seem to believe. And we have plenty of draft picks, 2nd rounders, 3rd rounders. Yeah we don't have 1sts but let's not act like we're going into the next several years without key draft picks. The future is not now. That's why you don't hold onto Gaffney when young talent like Garcon is available. Or spend money on Plax when you can develop Hankerson and Dez as red zone targets. Or add Chad Johnson when a younger receiver in Josh Morgan can grow as the Z receiver. All as RG3 develops too. Of course I want to win, but I mean we're 2-3. How far off is that from where we all thought our record would be right now? Would you rather be 3-2 with Grossman and Gaffney or 2-3 with RG3 and Garcon? It's a good debate SS, but only if you hold on to the premise guys like Garcon, Hank, Morgan and Briscoe develop into consistent difference makers. Right now, I think it's less than 50/50 odds any of those guys become consistent difference makers. Garcon's middle name, if you will, is inconsistent. The other three are really projects of one form or another. Hopefully I'm wrong all around. But if none become difference makers then certainly the better route was keep the the average, vet WRs around (for a fraction of the currect payroll) until you really get that guy. That's what I don't understand about the "we're building for the future" argument. I see us trying to win now, and sucking at it. Why blow a wad and gamble on a guy like Garcon, who's definitely not proven he can be a #1 WR, if you're not "reaching" to win now? If anything the regime has looked desperate for immediate improvement in it's personnel decisions. skinsfaninok 10-08-2012, 02:21 PM Briscoe sucks that's y he isn't playing guys punch it in 10-08-2012, 02:25 PM Briscoe sucks that's y he isn't playing guys How do we know that unless he plays? I think if he was consistently having great practices they'd give him a shot. SBXVII 10-08-2012, 02:30 PM Atlanta is a better team than we are. We can complain about certain things but bottom line is they're a better team and the better team won. But we must cut Cundiff tonight and get some kickers in here tomorrow. Atlanta is a better team. has been for several years. I had this game as a loss on my win loss calender so I'm not too upset but the Skins did give Atlanta a run for their money. Score was pretty close and maybe that was partially cause Atlanta does not play well in weather or outside stadiums. But any advantage we can get is a plus. I really don't think we are going to know what we got until each of the other NFC East teams start playing the same teams; ie; Saints, Rams, Falcons, or each other. The Skins beat Tampa just like two of our division rivals have and all three teams beat Tampa. punch it in 10-08-2012, 02:36 PM Coaches probably know it because they see him practice everyday. I think if he was consistently having great practices they'd give him a shot. They also saw cundiff kick in practice everyday. So either they need glasses or things dont always translate frome the practice field to gameday. I dont think it hurts to get him in the game. I think if he was consistently having great practices they'd give him a shot.i get that, i understand that's the way it works. but some guys can turn it up to another level in a game, not saying that briscoe will - just saying he might. this isn't a "shit season, might as well play the young guys" type thing. i'm not saying he's going to come on strong like victor cruz did last season, i just want to see him get some serious playing time in a regular season game. skinsfaninok 10-08-2012, 02:41 PM Yeah but kickers are slim to none out there so we have to keep cundiff |
