I was in a redskins bar out in san diego last year, and people were cheering for first downs like we were scoring touchdowns. I wasn't sure whether to laugh or feel sorry for us. I just cheered also.

HEY!! Winston's is a classy establishment.

Interesting Ignoring for a moment what my own eyes tell me which very much disagree with you. I've heard two ex head coaches, an ex GM, two highly regarded retired QB analysts and the top draft experts for ESPN and NFLN discuss Cam and not one of them ever said anything remotely supporting your opinion. Plenty of maturity and work ethic speculation, that on hindsight mostly seems to have not become an issue.

He had a good game today BTW. Besides last weeks body language much ado about nothing which is interesting in itself. Eli can spend his first three years regularly looking like a whiney 9 year old who didn't get a cookie EVERY TIME the slightest thing went wrong and no one so much as talks about it in passing. But the "immature" Newton sulks on the bench after a bad game and its a national story. I'm sure its got a lot to do with flash and self promotion of one versus the down to earth personality of the other.

IMO well said.

We need to get rid of Cundiff right now, before he costs us a game in the future. I understand that he made that final kick, but he was trying his best to miss it. Had he nailed that last kick, maybe I'd say give him another chance, but that kick was whipping to the left so hard we all held our breath. Had we been a yard or two back he'd have missed that kick. Billy Cundiff is the Rex Grossman of kickers. We can't spend another season holding our breath on 30 -40 yard kicks. We need a kicker that can make those kicks routinely.

I think the Skins hand ATL their first loss.

Yep. Fact is, we are going to be in a lot of close games this year and my guess is the kicker is going to decide more than half of them. Can't have someone out there missing 30-40 yard field goals...unsat.

Yup...this is what Redskins Confidential had to say from the link above:

"Billy Cundiff has a reputation for being confident. Even when maybe he shouldn’t be. Like Sunday. This isn’t meant to be a joke, but it’s hard work for a kicker to remain confident for too long in this league. That’s why Cundiff said after the game that he kept telling himself that he’s been through these situations in the past and come through. That confidence made a difference in the end. But let’s be real about Cundiff: he’s made more than 80 percent of his kicks only once in the six seasons he’s attempted at least 17. That means he’s an ordinary kicker at best. His kickoffs are excellent, but he has struggled as a placekicker throughout his career. In the last four years he’s made 80 percent of his kicks under 49 yards, but that’s far from elite and if a guy is going to miss all the time beyond 50 (13 of last 15), he’d better be more automatic from closer distances."

I had to leave and missed the last 2 minutes of the game yesterday, what a pleasant surprise. The WP would be on fire today if the Skins would have blown that game. Happy Monday everyone!!!!
