You want me to bring up failed Beathard and Casserly picks as well? Because I can. Don't use the "you're a mod" excuse when I challenge your post. If you can't handle the debate find somewhere else to talk Redskins

The defense needs to get better. Bottom line. USC and Matt Barkley could torch the Redskins defense for sure.

Bama would but not USC.

Casserly had some stinkers on the draft side and free agent side from 93 until he left when Snyder took over.

No college offense could beat any NFL defense

He weighed in at the combine at 223

But he hasn't seen him listed over 217. SMH.

I knew this already, but some people here needs their CPU taken away.

Strange that you only want to take out a single part of their computer. Why not the whole thing?

Remember we are all on the same side here.
We all want the Redskins to win football games.

You haven't been here long enough. :D

We have a few who don't.

You want to rip my post have it! Those guys are all garbage and just symptomatic of the overall poor drafting by this team ever since Bobby Beathard and Charley Casserly left town. You want to have your rose colored, or in this case burgundy-n-gold, glasses and all is well and the skins can do no wrong and Redskins management can do no wrong, have at it. Your the mod, your forum, your rules, got it!

I broke it dowwn a couple years ago so it may have changed, but, essentially, we were hitting on our draft picks with the same success rate that NE was. Pre-Shanallem, we traded picks away like they were going out of style so even though the success rate was similar, we had fewer players to show for it.

Considering that under Shanallen, we have drafted 27 players since Shanallen got here, and only 2 of those guys are no longer in the NFL, I would suggest that from a draft perspective, we have seen a sea change in the way this team is being built. Does it continue? We'll see. Will translate into a change on the field. Hopefully. Given the youth movement beginning in 2010, I would hope we see the transition this year.

It's game three. We have a tough schedule and real issues on the line and defensive backfield. At the same time, we have youth at both positions (Gomes, Bernstein, Crawford, Gettis, Compton, LeRibeus, Hurt). Does it develop? Hope so.

But it's the Skins so, if we cut them, they will inevitably be superstars elsewhere. Good thing we have had home grown talent to sustain us like London Fletcher, Santana Moss, Steve Bowen ... oh, wait.

Gee let's see 6-10, 5-11, now off to a 1-2 start, with one of the worst defenses in the NFL

Dude, calm down.....

and dependent entirely upon our extremely talented QB in order to have any offence at all. Which the geniuses running the show that is Kyle, and Mike, just spelling it out for you so don't miss the frigging point, clearly are intent on getting the kid killed with idiotic playing calling of let him take 20 -30 hits a game. Why do you think RBs only last till age 30 in this league?

So they are to blame for the injuries from dirty hits too? Otay......

Shanahan is a grade A prick, and a liar, afterall he is the one at the podium, and I quote, "I stake my reputation on it" that Rex Grossman and John Beck can play in this league, how exactly did that work out?

A lot better than him going out and saying "We can't win with these guys"[/QUOTE]

Here we are year three, and same major issues, no depth on the o-line, and now a problematic secondary. Yet again our major free agents not exactly working out this season, not knocking Garcon, but he is needed in the worst possible way, if this foot injury ends up being a chronic thing, and as a fan I pray that it is not, are we going to have another Jamal Brown on our hands?

It is never going to be an immediate improvement.

With respect to Clemons, and obviously nobody reads anything if it is long, I pointed out he bounced around the league. But there is a trend and no one can deny this that ex-Redskins go elsewhere and thrive, and just to make it clear for the recent era: Antonio Pierce, Ryan Clark, Champ Bailey, Carlos Rogers, Rheingold now at Buffalo and so on, I am sure there are plenty more examples.

Pierce was with us for one season? When Rogers was here everyone bitched he couldn't catch, Bailey had to leave, etc....

I don't see a trend any more than with other teams. Some leave and do well, other don't.

So if anyone needs to stop smoking the funny stuff, it is you son.

Son?

No college offense could beat any NFL defense

How could you be so sure about that? Some NFL defenses are pretty mediocre, like last season's New England Patriots squad that finished 32nd in defense. I can see Stanford, Baylor, Texas, Oklahoma, and USC lighting up that Patriots defense. The difference between the NCAA and the NFL is the speed of the game. But RG3 would hit Kendall Wright all day long on Belichick's pathetic Patriots defense.
