You know how those last couple of days before you go on vacation can sometimes be the best part. Your walking around happy with anticipation and tying up loose ends. Well being a Redskins fan is like being in a perpetual state of pre-vacacation. Once the vacation starts you know its going to end. So be happy and enjoy your perpetual state of pre-vacation.
That's awesome...and also qualifies for the optimism thread!

Again, we are always only 2 years away.
Looking at the roster it really shouldn't take that long. Offensively we need a starting caliber RT and at least one more backup OT. A proven playmaker at WR would be nice but likely not in the cards because we guaranteed so much to Garcon.
Defensively, we are are a few players away from being "there" whether we stayed in the 3-4 or switched back to the 4-3.
I think a good (not even great) off-season could put us there.
However, the big ? is talent evaluation by this FO. This IS Mike's roster. We're three years in and only have one starting caliber OT (who's hurt right now) and a defense that's vastly inferior to the one he inherited. Those facts are on the regime and nobody else. How much faith can you have they're gonna figure it out in the 4th year?

Roster move: David Jones is back, know they've been wanting him back for a while. Surprised he even was cut originally
Don't know who was let go to make room

I think that is just a sign of how broken this franchise has been since 1992. Granted 1999 and the begining of the Snyder era is the true begning of this team hitting bottom. Shanahan clearly owns this current mess, not a big fan of his, and I think the nepotism of having his son as OC, is problematic. As a father there is no way that could objectively judge my own sons if they worked for me.
But beyond the nepotism Shanahan owns the following blunders: McNubb trade, I "stake my reputation" on Beck/Grossman and the failure to address the offensive line and secondary.
It is truly mind boggling how many ex-Redskins go to other teams and then perform at a higher level. Chris Clemons at Seatle being the latest example with his 4 sack game, granted he bounced from the Skins to Oakland, to Philly, to finally Seatle, but seems this is a consistent story line. In my mind it is a symptom of an overall organizational/culture problem within the franchise.
Been a fan of this team for a long time, and that loyalty is not going to change, I guess the biggest problem are the childhood memories of when this team was good, and now twenty years of suck. My biggest hope is that RG3 is able to turn this franchise around.
I am becoming very sceptical that Shanahan is the one to guide this team and RG3. I think they way they are using RG3 is very reckless and will cost the franchise long term, they need to let him, throw the damn football! The kid is a phenomenal talent and it is going to be a bitter pill of the Shananigan duo, messes him up trying to win a couple more games on a season in which it is obvious that this team is no where near being ready to contend for a division title or the playoffs. I almost cringe at thinking what is going to happen when the likes of Dallas, NY, and Philly defenses t-off on RG3 with the incredibly porous o-line. Rant off.

So many flaws with that post, but whatever. To each their own. Hail to the Redskins

Really? I couldn't find a single one, though admittedly I don't really think about the pre-Snyder era much. But other than that is there anything from the post you can honestly refute with factual evidence?

Oh, come on! How can you be serious? He went to how many teams before he stabilized and had one good game?
The Skins are finally getting where they need to be and people are complaining about the the Shanahan's?
