skinsfaninok 09-23-2012, 09:56 PM http://www.nfl.com/teams/statistics?team=WAS Whens the last time we avg 33 points per game? Wow skinsfaninok 09-23-2012, 09:57 PM Is anyone else worried about Orakpo's future here? Or is that just me? I think he's here another year at Least mooby 09-23-2012, 09:58 PM It's legit to complain about poor personnel decisions when good players are allowed to leave. Paying D. Hall huge dollars was a mistake. That money would have been better spent to keep Rogers, a far superior pass and run defender. He even started catching the ball at SF. What's funny is I actually agree with you, I'd definitely rather have Rogers over Hall right now. But my actual point is right now, as of this moment, we have Hall, and the 49ers have Rogers. So what good does bringing it up do? If we talk about it enough, is it going to make coaches/FO personnel realize the error of their ways and try to find a way to bring him back? Is it going to make any difference whatsoever in what this FO does tomorrow? No. Because they're probably focused 100% on the players we do have and the problems we have to solve. Ruhskins 09-23-2012, 09:58 PM The only way Orakpo's future here is in jeopardy is if his health becomes an issue. GTripp0012 09-23-2012, 09:58 PM If those two clowns were our "best" we had on our defense, it kinda tells you how pathetic the talent level really was on this team. (both sides) Can we apply the same standard you are holding Landry and Rogers to on Brian Orakpo, who just lost a critical season (maybe the decisive season) as a Redskin because he didn't entirely heal from the preseason injury and or last years injury? I mean he was a Cerrato pick so he's pretty much part of the problem at this point. GTripp0012 09-23-2012, 10:00 PM The only way Orakpo's future here is in jeopardy is if his health becomes an issue. You sure? Ruhskins 09-23-2012, 10:02 PM You sure? Either that or if some team comes with a good offer for him. GTripp0012 09-23-2012, 10:05 PM Here's the point that I'm making with Orakpo: it's easy to find fault with anyone after they are gone. The shanahans have made an Art of it. If Orakpo doesn't have a rebound year in 2013 and the defense continues to struggle, you can either try to build around your best players, or point out that they want more money that you're willing to play and move on without them. Doing the latter gets you the Redskins current secondary. It almost cost the Redskins London Fletcher. It could cost them Orakpo. mooby 09-23-2012, 10:08 PM Either that or if some team comes with a good offer for him. I agree. I felt like he was coming into the scheme well so far, obviously he's not a huge asset in coverage but as long as he did an adequate job on that (and they didn't put him in the slot against any speedy wideouts *coughschemeissuecough*) as well as kept the sacks coming I think he has a future here. There's still a part of me that feels he'd be better as a 4-3 edge rusher but I liked the pressure him and Kerrigan were able to get as bookend pass rushers. And with so many holes on other areas of the team upgrading over Orakpo definitely wouldn't have been a priority at all, at least unless the scenarios Ruh said presented themselves. SmootSmack 09-23-2012, 10:09 PM Orakpo and the Skins were working on a long term deal this summer, don't know what became of it. But I don't see him going anywhere. Yes they included him in original discussions for RG3 but that's kind of standard. |
