Ruhskins 09-23-2012, 10:24 PM But he wasn't catching the ball here. And again, it wasn't an either/or situation. They were prepared to keep both.
But it seems like the players are always the good guys. Like guys like Rogers and even Fletcher can never be greedy
I am sure people would have been crucifying the FO if they gave Rogers the money he wanted.
Bushead 09-23-2012, 10:25 PM Maybe this is wrong to say, but I really don't see the personnel being the issue here. Wilson, Hall and Golmes I think should all be good enough to not be shredded like it has been going.
It seems like scheme wise, they are calling the game like they have elite corners. The 73 yard pass was no no safety help, the one on Wilson was the same, and then the long pass on Crawford had a safety, but they went to a different direction.
They are crowding the line, blitzing a bunch of people and leaving everyone one on one, but the rush isn't getting there. It is a recipe for disaster because the scheme is creating a situation where the front end can't do their job and the back end isn't talented enough to pull it off.
SmootSmack 09-23-2012, 10:25 PM Or Morris...the dude is always moving forward with the ball.
Yeah, I mean whoever, But you're putting RG3 out there to get pounded all day long and he's making plays with his arms and feet repeatedly but then 4th and 1 and you don't give him the opportunity, you punt? Even last week go for it on 4th and 18. Why send Cundiff out there? We didn't wait two years and give up all those picks to have RG3 on the sidelines when it matters, not in my opinion.
Evilgrin 09-23-2012, 10:26 PM Never forget... Haynesworth. :woot:
Huge cap penalty, probably prevented us from getting Winston & Carr, who have been mentioned as missed free agents.
skinsfaninok 09-23-2012, 10:26 PM I'm the original D-Hall hater up in this joint,(I think), but there were catches that Green made today that were of no fault to D-Hall. I mean this one in particular D-Hall was all over him and dude still made this incredible catch. You can't ask your DB to do more than that. The TD by Green? I can't finger that on D-Hall unless I know the type of defense they were in, but it probably was Gomes fault if I had to guess. Need to see it again. Now granted, D-Hall did get burnt a few times today, but that's not slouch that he was going against. In a couple years, he'll be this league's best WR.
He's already a top ten WR
aircoryell 09-23-2012, 10:28 PM Never forget... Haynesworth. :woot:
It will forever pain me to know that the money that went to Haynesworthless was meant to go for Sean Taylor's contract renewal had he not passed.
SmootSmack 09-23-2012, 10:28 PM Rogers wanted out right?? I mean what did they want the skins to do? Offer an avg CB. 80 million dollars?
Yeah, but more importantly he wanted to get paid. There are some who believe that he purposely asked for a lot knowing the Redskins wouldn't offer it and then he moved on. But he took that same asking price, can't recall the exact figures, elsewhere.

Nnamdi right now is the poster child of how scheme can affect a player's performance.
Still, I do think we need talent in the secondary.

Oh i completely agree. I just feel like the secondary is average, but what we have seen is comparable to the Patriots last year when they had nothing but rookies back there.
GTripp0012 09-23-2012, 10:33 PM How about letting Landry, the 6th overall pick walk away and get nothing for him and Rogers the 9th overall. Not even a 7th round pick for either.
Yeah the big thing with Landry was that he just wasn't dependable. Defense was very good when he played but you couldn't count on him and the defense wasn't very good when he was out.
Now the defense is just not very good all the time. So glad we fixed that problem.
