Polumbus is basically garbage. I can't even think about it or the blood pressure gets out of hand. Why on earth we didn't upgrade RT is beyond me.

Except when it comes to special teams.

Golston is one of our better blockers on teams.

The goal is to decrease the amount of blocked kicks - bottom line. Offensive players block dozens of times a day their whole career. Defensive players only do it when they are on special teams or returning a pick. Its ok to have inexperienced protectors UNTIL you prove that you can't do it. At this point it is better to have experience there.

There are defensive players who can block (golston). There are offensive players who can tackle (paul). Of course there are exceptions but generally Offensive players block/pick up blitzes better than defensive players just like Defensive players generally tackle better than offensive players.

Interesting.

Bernie Bytes: Are Fisher's teams dirty? : Stltoday (http://www.stltoday.com/sports/columns/bernie-miklasz/bernie-bytes-are-fisher-s-teams-dirty/article_4f714866-42b6-11e1-8a98-001a4bcf6878.html)

The fastidious Sando, who keeps track of penalties, kindly shared this information:

• From 2001-2010, the Titans led the NFL in most personal foul penalties with 163. The second-highest teams on the list for most PFs were the NY Giants and Arizona Cardinals, with 137.

Here's the breakdown ...

* The Titans led the NFL in unnecessary roughness penalties, 67.

* The Titans led the NFL in roughing the passer penalties, 46.

* The Titans were fifth in other variations of personal fouls (32) and sixth in unsportsmanlike conduct penalties (18.)

As Shanahan, and several other commentators, said there isn't a load of quality RT's sitting around doing nothin'. And most teams are complaining about their RT play. Polumbus isn't going to turn any heads, and if someone better comes available and we can afford him, then I am sure we will try to get them, but ultimately Line Play is about a cohesive unit, and I think our running and passing stats have shown some ability to account for less than stellar RT play.

the short answer is who did you want to replace him with?

I want to replace him with Silverblunt after we sign Ryan Clady

TW is fine at left tackle. In fact we get (imo) good push when we run to the left. Why mess that up? If we are just playing Madden or Fantasy, I will take Oher and put him at RT.

Robinson dropping the long bomb at the end. That would have resulted in (eventually, if not on that play) a TD and left us looking like world beaters, the entire WP forum would look different.

Possibly pink with unicorns and rainbows.....

Yeah running to the left has been much better than to the right, but I'll be curious to see how the stats look whenever somebody posts them. And the left side as protected well. The right side is consistently weak and it's on Polumbus.

Your question about who to get is a good one though, I mean it seems like developing a solid RT (over the last three years) as opposed to signing a FA, was necessary, but hasn't happened.

Confirms what I saw. Bowen has been a monster first 2 games and Wilson is playing like a beast.

C Griffen had a really really bad game.

Would like to hear more on Gomes, cause he has looked decent. But he did mention the huge negative I saw which was his inability to get to the edge before the blocker got there on the 54 yard run. If he gets there he woulda forced Richardson back inside.

Really nice blimp on Crawford at the end. Dude put him in at slot and move D Hall to the outside forcing C Griff off the field.
