You do not cut players over one mistake. Ridiculous...

Then why didnt Chris Long get penalized for pointing at his head repeatedly even after an official told him to stop?

After flagging Morgan, refs let Chris Long get away with taunting | ProFootballTalk (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/09/17/after-flagging-josh-morgan-refs-let-chris-long-get-away-with-taunting/)

from the article:

What that brief clip doesn’t show is that after the official told him to stop, Long did stop — for about one second, before walking back toward the Redskins’ sideline and gesturing again, all in plain sight of the official who had just told him to stop.
Emphasis mine, that is about as in your face to the refs as you can get. I would hope the league sends out fines to the teams and players. but they won't.

i thought morgan or moss or davis could play better than i saw this game. robinson's fine, but it's looking kinda like this thing just doesn't work right without garcon.

I started to think the same bro but then you have to remember Davis was our best downfield target last year until the suspension. Kyle simply hasn't "featured" Davis much this year, which is bizarre. With Garcon out Davis (once again) is the only guy who can break some tackles and go for extra yardage in all the underneath routes Kyle features.

And the other thing I noticed in the Rams game was how many pass plays had WR routes (and therefor defenders) bunched up in pockets downfield. Kyle is shrinking the field rather than stretching it in a lot of pass plays. I'm real curious to look back again and count em on the NFLN replay. But the point is why make things more difficult for your rookie QB (who honestly does struggle with accuracy from time to time) by forcing him to throw into extremely tight coverage because you have routes that bring the WRs and defenders to the same (small) area on the field. This is what happened on every throw where a defender nearly intercepted Griffin.

Actually Davis is tied with the most targets (9) but only has 4 receptions. He has been less than productive as my FF team can attest to.

^ Yeah, I thought that Freddy would have a huge year as a rookie QB's best friend. It hasn't worked out that way so far. Davis has not played well or, at least, as well as he could.

9 in two games doesn't seem like a lot to me, though I see the comparison point. With Garcon out especially, I would move Davis all over the LOS to create mismatches and get the ball to him early and often. Davis in the slot. Davis spread out wide. That's what I mean by featured. Mostly I've seen Davis on the crossing routes underneath, and the play is easily defended. It's...frustrating...to say the least.

In my book, ridiculous is not qualifying the mistake. No mistake merits release? You are ridiculous.

These replacement officials have to go. That's the bottom line.

I believe the Shanahans try to spread it out a lot, so 9 targets is a lot, considering other guys are maybe getting 2 or 3 looks. But I think if you drop passes that are hitting your hands as FD has done several times, you don't get featured as much. Now I get the point about some that are easily defended, but he has had the worst case of drops these past two games, and he needs to get past that if he wants to be any sort of go to guy.
