skinsfaninok 09-06-2012, 11:47 PM WTF?
1. The Skins don't need the season to start to prove the RG3 naysayers wrong.
2. The Skins are not angry? I guess Roger Goodell didn't take away $36 mill in CAP space from the Skins.
3. Payton may not be coaching the team, but deep down I get the feeling there is some form of communication that we don't know about is happening.
4. The writer might feel that the NFL thinks they have solved the problem and that the Saints might not see it that way and might want to in act revenge but.... I can't think of any other team who will be under more scrutiny with their play then the Saints. I'm sure Goodell will be keeping an eye on any injured players that come from playing them.
All the other stuff in the paragraph was fluff, the fact that they are bringing in an interim to the interim screams of Rookie HC not being totally prepared to take on a team that beat the SB Giants twice last year.
I don't see the vastly superior part. Weren't we winning the game against them until they had a stroke of luck and won the game?
What we don't know is how much say Brees had in the play calling before. If he never partook in deciding what play should be next Brees might just flub this up.
This X10. I'm banking on the guy being too aggressive and mistakes will be made.
Clearly the writer is just a tiny bit biased and is a Saints fan. To bad NFL.com couldn't pick a better writer or one less biased.
If u don't think Payton is communicating with the team u are very blind to football. And no the saints are not that much better than us
SFREDSKIN 09-07-2012, 12:28 AM By the way here's video of John Clayton and his ponytail myth:

Chico23231 09-07-2012, 09:23 AM I think the thing Im most excited about watching is the offensive gameplan Kyle and Mike come up with for the first game. If you think about the skill positions, I think we have improved overall in the talent department and got alot of 2nd-3rd year guys now.
Davis is a solid, proven playmaking TE and have added additional speed with Paul. Helu and Royster had a full offseason and gained pivitol playing time last year. Alfmo has done nothing but grabbed the MVP of the preseason with outstanding play. I see Alfmo as more of the 2nd half pounder in games, the finisher. Helu has proven big play capability.
At WR you probably see the biggest improvement of talent. Garcon is a number one, big play guy. Morgan is gonna be underneath, in the middle Mr. Hands. His hands have impressed me in the preseason. Hankerson is the question mark, he has big play potential, but needs to play faster imo. Its time to stop thinking and go out and make a play. Moss looks more n shape and needs to rebound from a poor season, playing in the natural slot, he should be able.
And of course there is RG3, a massive improvement over Rex. His playmaking ability has been talked about all offseason. I just want to see consistency and steady improvement. Make the mistakes and learn.
Kyle doesnt have the excuses in the past, he has the talent. He needs to coach that talent and put it together this year. IMO he has maybe the most to prove in the organization. His schemes should be fun to watch the opening weekend. HTTR.
53Fan 09-07-2012, 09:27 AM Couldn't agree more Chico. Win, lose or draw this should be an exciting team on the upswing.
Monkeydad 09-07-2012, 11:24 AM first quarter rg3 finds the going tough. saints lead 14-0, then rg3 gets injured in 2nd quarter, cousins comes in and throws an interception after getting sacked twice. and then grossman comes in and leads the skins to a 27-24 victory.
I'd punch you in the mouth if I could.
- Bobby Valentine
Well ok not so much a naysayer but clearly a writer who thinks RG3 won't be able to mount any form of offense to win the game and will get punished for all the Saints had to go through.
Lets forget that the Redskins had a decent D last year and was able to stuff the run pretty good all year. Yes the Skins got picked apart in the secondary but hopefully with a better front line which can create even more pressure and the few tweeks made to the secondary and a new DB coach maybe the Skins are able to keep the Saints scoring down.
and lets not forget the team .... with Grossman only got blown out like twice and the rest of the games were all with in 3-7 points. One less INT, one more score could be the difference. and thats where all the questions lie. Can RG3 provide that one less INT or one more score in the red zone?
I know the teams stats don't really show it but I think most of us here can atleast admit this team has slightly improved each year. From having no running game the first year to having a half decent run game last year with a mediocre pass game, and now with a young, fast, strong armed, and accurate QB this team might.... just might be better then everyone thinks and might be able to steal a game from the Saints.
Don't misinterpret. I love RG3. I think he's going to have a great rookie season and become entrenched as a star in Washington, D.C., with his play, leadership and personality. He's just walking into a hornet's nest Sunday at the Superdome.
He clearly likes RG3, he just doesn't like the Skins chances in this one, and frankly I can see his point about the Saints wanting to come out and unleash hell on the league. In the end it's just one person's opinion. Nothing to get too upset over.
SkinzWin 09-07-2012, 11:38 AM first quarter rg3 finds the going tough. saints lead 14-0, then rg3 gets injured in 2nd quarter, cousins comes in and throws an interception after getting sacked twice. and then grossman comes in and leads the skins to a 27-24 victory.
That would be an extremely insane scenario of events. But Cousins is 3rd string, and he would be subbing for Grossman, not the other way around.
:Smoker: :blah: :laughing2 What a maroon.
That's okay, Rex's mom. I love your positive outlook on our fortunes for this season.
Monkeydad 09-07-2012, 11:41 AM I can definitely see the Saints coming out with revenge on their minds, but I do think the team is missing too many key pieces from the punishments and Brees may not be on his game after the long holdout. I can see them trying to blow us away, but will make a lot of mistakes.
There's a ton of pressure on Brees without Payton or any coach with experience in calling plays. I think the burden will be on Brees to make all of the calls.
Haslett will be coming after him and adding to the pressure. I can see Brees getting sacked and turning the ball over more than usual. Carl Nicks was a huge loss for Brees' O-line. Ben Grubbs was a good pickup, but is a downgrade from Nicks. Also, their tackle position is not what it used to be and we'll exploit that.
Brees will be on top of his game, as always. I wouldn't expect anything less.
I could see their D being weakened, but that offense will be on point.
Monkeydad 09-07-2012, 11:58 AM We'll see. I expect plenty of big plays because of Brees' ability, but I do expect some mishaps due to the interim coach for the interim coach to the head coach they're handing the clipboard to. That is, unless Payton is texting the play calls and Chase Daniel is relaying them to the huddle.
