Chris Cooley Released

Sad sad day.

Whatever happens he'll be one the all time great Redskins and probably retire as one.

Hasn't Cooley talked major trash in the media about the cowboys in the past, I can't see them picking him up.

Now what Jersey am I going to wear each week, he was my go to one.

Exactly. Of all the players he seemed like a safe bet jersey to purchase. Now no one is safe and there's not a jersey worth purchasing if we have to buy a new one every yr. Waaaaay too much money for a piece of cloth just for one or two yrs.

Sad day for a GREAT Redskin. Wishing CC all of the best.

They tried as recently as yesterday to shop him around but couldn't find any takers.

Or so they say, it's possible they did find a taker but out of respect for Cooley didn't trade him to allow him to choose the team of his liking.

Either way, been known for weeks now that his days as a Redskin were done

Was this the trade that was discussed yesterday? Or is there potentially another one coming?

I wish him well and part of me is hoping we pick him right back up. I think he still has some juice in the tank.

It's been discussed. It's been talked about. But as we all know there is always a golden child in every office. He was it. Never thought this day would actually come. I figured he would retire or (god forbid) get injured and not be able to continue which again would lead to retirement.

The only bright side is him possibly being in the booth instead of Aikmen.

There were a few trades discussed yesterday. But this is not the one I was talking about, nothing came truly close to happening with Cooley

Contract made him un-tradeable.

Cooley would, I think, do better in the studio on sports radio than as a color commentator in the booth
