Jamaal Brown Has Surgery..Again.Chico23231 11-28-2012, 10:21 AM So we dont need our draft picks now? oh ok... REDSKINS4ever 11-28-2012, 10:24 AM Of course we need our draft picks. How are we going to build a solid team without draft picks? MTK 11-28-2012, 10:26 AM Financial implications of Jammal Brown’s contract are weighed - Washington Times (http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/aug/2/financial-implications-of-jammal-browns-contract-a/?page=all) Posted before but worth tossing up again, regarding his contract implications skinsfan69 11-28-2012, 10:45 AM The actual trade wasn't the bad move made by the FO at the time. The bad move was when they resigned him in the previous off-season KNOWING he was a injury liability, and then counted on him with no solid backup (polumbus) plan in place. Skinsfan, this doesn't smell of Vinny one bit. Not even close. I think it does. Trading a high draft pick for an older player coming off an injury is not smart. Plus they moved him from LT to RT. Yeah hindsight is 20/20 but to me this is just using common sense. JoeRedskin 11-28-2012, 10:46 AM The actual trade wasn't the bad move made by the FO at the time. Skinsfan, this doesn't smell of Vinny one bit. Not even close. Yup. Trading for a player one year removed from the pro-bowl was not a terrible move. At the time, I was good with it and actually pretty happy about it. Had it panned out, we would have been set at the tackle position for years to come. Resigning him? That one boggled me. skinsfan69 11-28-2012, 10:47 AM From #72 to #79 (where we picked with a trade from Miami) 73 New England Patriots Stevan Ridley RB 74 New England Patriots Ryan Mallett QB 75 Seattle Seahawks John Moffitt G 76 Jacksonville Jaguars Will Rackley G 77 Tennessee Titans Jurrell Casey DT 78 St. Louis Rams Austin Pettis WR OMG We Coulda Had Steven RIDLEY!!! (we took Hankerson at 79) What a bum trade! [/sarcasm] Well Ridley's a pretty damn good player on one of the best teams in the NFL. I'd take him over Brown. Yeah hindsight is 20/20 but to me this is just using common sense. Technically the Saints moved him from RT to LT skinsfan69 11-28-2012, 10:51 AM It's just time to move on from Brown. Hopefully they can get someone in the upcoming draft to push Polumbus. RT and safety have to be at the top of their list. Chico23231 11-28-2012, 10:52 AM We all remember JB missed the entire 2009 season due to injury right? CRedskinsRule 11-28-2012, 10:57 AM Well Ridley's a pretty damn good player on one of the best teams in the NFL. I'd take him over Brown. with benefit of hindsight - This is a brilliant point. |
