Are the Skins the last team he played for? Seems like he got pickup after he left the Skins. Maybe he just worked out for other teams and I have my facts wrong.

Anyone think he is HoF worthy?

Nice career for #26, definitely one of the best backs we've had

9923 yards rushing
80 TDs

Glad he retired a Redskin. He was one of my favorite Skins players ever.

He worked out for other teams but was never signed. The Patriots were one of them.

I definitely think he put up HOF numbers. He should be inducted, not first year but he should make it in after a few years. 27th all time in yards. It's a shame he couldn't stay healthy one more season to hit 10,000 yards (just 77 yards away) and pass Riggins as all-time rusher for our team. That would've probably locked him into the Hall. His 75 rushing TDs were just outside the Top 20 all-time also.

agreed . . . i was a big Portis fan when he was here . . . love his running, but absolutely LOVED his blocking . . . the nfl needs more backs that learn how to block . . .

I think Portis worked out for New England at some point in 2011 but wasn't signed to a contract. He was a very, very good running back. I wished he could have toppled the 10,000 yard rushing mark though.

I think it's cool he's choosing to retire with us. Shame his career ended the way it did though. As far as HOF-worthy, even though I love what he did for us while he was there, I don't see it happening. I'd give him one of the 80 greatest Redskins spots though. Even though there were a lot of fans upset with him during his time here, I wasn't one of them. I hope he has a lot of success in his next career path, wherever that is.

Glad to hear he's hanging it up as a Skin. I don't think CP is a HOF back but none the less a very very good one.
