So I know a lot of us are woefully concerned about the OL, but there's another unit that merits some "sky is falling" discussion.
And that's the DBs. As I've said before, I wish they had gone after a stud like Grimes or Carr but for whatever reason they didn't.
Instead they chose Cedric Griffin, with the expectation that he'll primarily line up opposite Josh Wilson with DeAngelo Hall in the nickel replacing Kevin Barnes.
On average, starting corners I believe get about 20-25% more snaps than the nickel. To be clear though, I suspect that Hall will largely be the starter but when a nickel situation is called for, Cedric won't come in to play nickel he'll come in to replace Hall and Hall slides to cover the slot receiver. We'll know for sure soon enough.
I thought we stole Barnes in the draft, now I think we got robbed. He's been a considerable disappointment who I think has a lot to prove this summer to even make this roster as a dime cornerback.
Question is, are we that much better with Wilson, C. Griffin, and Hall over Wilson, Hall, and Barnes?
