Sad news for Reid that's horrible

Cannot imagine what the Reid family is going through or what any parent goes through when they lose a child. Thoughts and prayers with the Reid family and Eagle organization.

The son supposedly had drug problems in the past, perhaps this came into play into his sudden death.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) -- Garrett Reid, the oldest son of Philadelphia Eagles (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/nfl/teams/eagles) coach Andy Reid, was found dead Sunday morning in his room at the club's training camp at Lehigh University. He was 29.
The police chief at Lehigh, Edward Shupp, said a 911 call was made at 7:20 a.m., and that Garrett Reid was deceased upon a policeman's arrival at the campus dormitory.
"There were no suspicious activities," said Shupp, who said a cause of death had not been determined

So Robert Gallery announced his retirement today. 2nd pick overall back in 2004, I think. So I can't decide if he was a bust or just had a decent yet not great career

Well, if he was drafted to be a guard, then I'd say his career was decent. However, he was drafted to be a franchise LT and in that aspect, he was a huge bust.

Oh dear. My thoughts go out to Andy Reid on this one, parents are never supposed to outlive their children. He's going to have some tough days ahead.

Is this the same son that had all those drug problems? Shame it's ended this way. I feel for Andy and his family. :(

One of the greatest competitors the game has ever seen. Of course it's only natural he retire, having competed and played the game at its' highest level while also receiving a Super Bowl ring in the span of 4 seasons. There's nothing left for him to accomplish now, and without a doubt we'll be hearing about him in 5 years when his name comes up for a certain distinction, which will be him being broke and penniless after his modeling career goes south. Godspeed Devin Thomas.

This sounds pretty brutal.

He faces a long road to recovery, but it'll be a great story if he can come back from this.
