I think skins guy made a excellent point about the mentally ill in our country and state laws that police them.

Guns are not the problem it is crazy people and not treating them or locking them up.

Even after the tragic events of today, I still stand by my views in regards to gun control. Controlling or trying to restrict something isn't going to stop anything. We've tried it with other things and its failed miserably and cost us billions of dollars.

Just think of all those drugs that are illegal, and yet how freely they flow on the streets. Think alcohol back in prohibition. Didn't stop anything and neither will banning or restricting guns. Crazy people will do crazy things regardless of the medium at hand.

See, I think for organized crime and things like that I agree. But for the crazy person who wants to do these random acts, they don't strike me as the type who "think" a lot before their actions and if maybe delaying them just enough will stop it, I think it's worth it.

Fck this too soon bulshit. It's time to do something...For one thing we need a single database of gun owners and annual mental and physical evaluation to own a gun. No more walking out with a gun before a background and evaluation of your fitness to own a gun. Lock the shit down now!

Wrong, god damn day for this thread!!!

This thread is from a while back. I linked here because people were getting political in the other thread.

I edited my post that bumped this thread to correct a wrong. As a few of you have said, it's not the day to discuss this.

i dont think we as a nation or even we as a message board think it is reasonable for someone mentally ill to have a firearm. we know the problem and seem to have known it for some time now, hell the shooting at virginia tech was over 5 and a half years ago now. we are just in need of a realistic solution.

i do beleive we need stricter gun laws, and there should more gun education as well. what happened yesterday is horrific and terrible, you really dont want to think things like that can happen. but things like this are not just caused by guns, some people are crazy and there is no telling what they are capable of sometimes.

i'm not trying to be politicial in anyway, just merly exspressing my feelings, sorry if we don't see things eye to eye. what happened yesterday was awful and my thoughts go out to everyone in the country that has young chilidren.
