For example, the league showed a slide prepared before the Saints' wild-card playoff game in Seattle in January 2011. The slide, which the NFL said came from the Saints' computer records, has photos across the top of Seahawks players such as quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, and then a photo shot through a sniper's lens. In the bottom right was a photo of television's 'The Bounty Hunter' and, circled in red, were the instructions: "Now it's time to do our job...collect bounty $$$!," and, "No apologies! Let's go hunting!"
Reading that article, it's clear the NFL had plenty of evidence to punish the Saints. Those involved need to just man up and accept responsibility for their actions.

What we've got here Rog:Smoker: you dont mind if i call ya Rog do ya? is your classic witch hunt, and :Smoker: nobody really found a witch, just a broom, black pointy hat and whatnot and what have ya. Ya see Rog :Smoker: the NFL is like eating a bologna, i like mine fried, it tastes good but you don't want to see how its made. As for Williams, when he mentioned that boys ACL I think he misspoke and meant ACT, :Smoker: he just wanted to see how smart he was. Case closed Rog, now let these fine young men get back work. :Smoker:

I can see how some folks (especially here in Saintsland) will claim that all of that evidence is circumstantial, misinterpreted, and lacking a smoking gun.
That said, the Saints were warned. You don't keep "joking" that way (if that's all it was) if you have already been warned.
The Saints deserve their punishment and need to stop whining about kangaroo courts.

Perhaps Hargrove is just poor in arguing for his own defense...but I see very little defense there. He offers no counter-evidence of (non) mis-doing. He just claims that the charges against him are "lies" and are motivated by some kind of witch hunt...the same way that guilty people always do when they don't want to admit their guilt.

Hopefully this bounty program will never happen again in the NFL. There's no place for it. Roger Goddell made an example out of Sean Payton and Gregg Williams.
