No Hockey League...

however, they are still trying to make some sort of compromise before tomorrow's press conference...the players finally agreed to a salary cap, but are 12 million apart from what the owners want...

I might miss it come playoff time, but I asked some of my friends who are diehard fans and they all say they don't miss it even half as much as they thought they would.

So what do we consider the four major sports leagues now? Used to be given that you'd say NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL. Now who's in that 4th slot? NASCAR? NCAA? PGA?

Didn't the players agree to a salary cap over a month ago though?

I'd go with NCAA. College basketball and football get way more attention than NASCAR.

NFL is the king of the major sports.

I used to be a big fan of the NBA back in the day but not anymore, I rarely watch even in the playoffs.

I also used to be a big Mets fan when I was a kid, now I can barely sit through an entire inning. Playoff time is different though, I'll watch during the playoffs.

I was never a big fan of hockey, it's much better live than on TV. I like to go to AHL games once in a while.

NCAA basketball is probably my distant 2nd favorite sport behind the NFL. You just can't beat March Madness.

I could really care less about NASCAR, I'd rather watch golf. Actually golf isn't all that bad, I really like to watch the Masters.

I am probably one of the few that care that there will be no hockey this year. While I didn't anxiously await NHL highlights on ESPN, it was fun to attend some games. Gary Bettman is the worst commissioner in all of pro sports. He has no regard for any hockey traditions and has steered the league on the brink of collapse.

On a side note it is a shame all of the people that are left without jobs because of this lockout. I'm talking about the little guys, the beer sellers, ticket takers, or businesses that benefitted when there was a game going on nearby. I read a story on how all the workers at the factory that makes hockey pucks were laid off. I also wonder how those cities that helped subsidized a hockey arena feel now too.

Yeah, I forgot that there even WAS hockey. The only reason I figured it out was because I was watching the ticker on ESPN and found it was much easier to catch the College hoops scores I wanted because NHL wasn't taking up the ticker time.

Ehh, I like to watch the playoffs, but I'll barley notice its not on.

The only major sports that I would despratley miss if they were gone are NFL, MLB, NCAA Basketball (although I do like Football, since the Skins' are around, I'm sure I wouldnt care that much) and PGA Golf, I friggin love golf.
