Seriously, Yahoo fluff writers are lousy at best but the opening paragraph of this article makes you say - "Why am I reading this":

9 Health Risks that Aren't Worth Taking | Healthy Living - Yahoo! Shine (http://shine.yahoo.com/healthy-living/9-health-risks-arent-worth-taking-190800070.html)

1. Holding your cell phone up to your ear.

Although the overall risk is still very low, research suggests that people who have spent the past decade or more frequently talking on their cell phones in the traditional way are more likely to develop brain tumors. John Walls, a spokesperson for industry trade group CTIA: The Wireless Association, points out that no major American health organization has said that wireless devices are a public health risk. ...

But before you give up on it, you have got to read the comments, because they are always what makes a Yahoo story worthwhile!

I read this article ... eating from a the tupperware i just heated up my leftovers in... my dog sitting next to me wearing his flee coller... just got off a 1 hour cell phone call... and was going to take a shower of which has a plastic curtain... well at least i stopped smoking cigarettes...

Sadly my Mother In Law chews this stuff up on a daily basis. Her anxiety over herself dieing or her children or my kids (her grandchildren); is beyond any sense of healthy worrying.

I always make sure to live with a tunnel and or bridge in between our houses. She is deathly afraid of going under or over them thus she doesn't visit my home. Currently the Key Bridge and Harbor Tunnel block her from visiting me.

Her is the kicker though! She thinks everything will kill her yet refuses to believe smoking a pack a day harms her health.

I really should send this article to her; just to mess with her.

Another funny thing is she use to send me articles like these then I would debunk them on Snopes; she would get mad at me! Like do you just want to be afraid of things that are not real?

Personally I'm not one to read up on things that make you live longer. You could follow every rule in the book about leading a healthy life and you still might get hit by a bus and die tomorrow. I'd much rather live and enjoy my life while I'm still here.

Life is too short for worrying

I think you do the big things to help your odds like no smoking, stay fit, eat well, wear your seat belt, etc..

But worrying that your cell phone may give you cancer or that 409 will kill you is just silly.

On another form that I read there is a over 100 page thread on the smoke that comes out of commercial jets and how it is meant to kill us all. I mean really people are afraid of this?

I HATE Yahoo news and those articles they post on their front page, which I see because I use their e-mail.

Even the sports articles...I ALWAYS regret opening. They never match the headlines and usually end up being about fashion or just some non-issue...leaving me saying "I got suckered again...WHY did I read this?"

Chris Chase should not have a job...worst sportswriter EVER.

Yeah I'm not a fan of his either, although I disagree with all the abuse he takes by the fans on the Corner. What's even worse is he makes the rest of us Redskins fans look bad lol.

Doesn't everyone worry that paranoia will kill them?

Doesn't everyone worry that paranoia will kill them?

Why are you saying that? Did someone tell you something? Who's spreading lies? Paranoid? No, there really ARE people after me.
