Abdo - What would you recommend?

After following this case I'd like to see Abdo be executed by a firing squad comprised of the people he was trying to murder. No, I don't care if he becomes a martyr to the cause.

He told authorities he planned to put the bomb in a busy restaurant filled with soldiers, wait outside and shoot anyone who survived — and become a martyr after police killed him.

The restaurant would have been filled with spouses and children, not just soldiers. How he's only getting life I don't know....

He's getting life because he only conspired to do such horrible crimes, and they caught him in the planning stage. If he had gotten away with it no doubt he'd get the death penalty.

I don't really have a problem with this. He gets to spend the rest of his life in prison, and unless I missed it in the article I don't think he'll have the opportunity to get paroled. I'm ok with that.

If you have a serious problem with it, study up on law, and get elected to a position where you can attempt to change the law. Until then, you are going to have to accept it like the rest of us.

If you have a serious problem with it, study up on law, and get elected to a position where you can attempt to change the law. Until then, you are going to have to accept it like the rest of us.

Exactly lol. You could do the latter method, but there's no guarantee of success (to be fair, the first method isn't guaranteed of success either) and the latter might take you just as long as the former. Either way, prepare to remain committed to the cause.

I never trust that report of kiddie porn, I see it as superfluous to the crime committed (or attempted) and wonder if this isn't just added to seal the deal, as it were.

A simple answer would be that it's partially cultural, from what I've read and heard from ME friends and troops.
