I wonder if there is any possible way they can trade Cooley.
Redskins OTAsmbedner3420 05-31-2012, 04:50 PM I wonder if there is any possible way they can trade Cooley. firstdown 05-31-2012, 04:50 PM ^ Dude you are the freakin man. Thanks a ton. Good stuff about Jamal Brown, bad news bout Cooley. Whats going on with Cooley? JoeRedskin 05-31-2012, 04:57 PM As to Cooley, speed was never his thing. I remember when he came out the knock on him was that he was considered to slow to get good separation. If he has slowed down even further, well, that's not good as he will be pretty much a non-factor in the passing game. Even though he is significantly lighter, if Paul can translate his open field WR blocking ability to being able to set the edge as a TE, I can see him replacing Cooley. Love Captain Chaos - but, if he's got the slows, it just may be the end. NC_Skins 05-31-2012, 05:03 PM I can also tell you Cooley did lose weight, much thinner, but he is SLOW. I really don't see the guy making the team. Yeah, another "blogger" over on ES that was out at OTAs and this is what he had to say about Cooley. Ok guys I promised I'd post what I saw at today's OTA so here goes. Cooley looks like he's in good shape guy looks skinny actually. He wasn't limping and was full go during team drills. However, and this is going to sting so be ready- he has CLEARLY lost a step (or 5). Cooley was never a "fast" guy and today he looked flat out slow. But don't take my word for it everyone I was standing with from literally every media outlet said the same. Hes healthy but i wonder if he gets what little burst he had back. Niles on the other hand looks great this early in transition (again dont take my word Shanahan confirmed when we talked to him during the presser). They want Niles to make an impact on the offense no doubt about it. Like I said in the write up he's getting the opportunity it's up to him now. Love Captain Chaos - but, if he's got the slows, it just may be the end. Cooley primary skill set was being able to find the spots in the zones and break tackles. He never outran anybody, nor did he burn people on 1 on 1 coverages. He'd just find that open spot in the zone, sit in it for the pass and then steam roll over kids for extra yards. If he's even slower than what he was, no bueno. JoeRedskin 05-31-2012, 05:07 PM Not sure why, but really hoping Paul is something special at TE. Chico23231 05-31-2012, 05:07 PM I wonder if there is any possible way they can trade Cooley. aging player, knee injury, slow, and big contract...probably not. NC_Skins 05-31-2012, 05:08 PM Not sure why, but really hoping Paul is something special at TE. I think he has the talent to actually surpass Fred Davis. He's already a better blocker and faster. 30gut 05-31-2012, 05:08 PM ~everything included in the OTA recapthis beer is on me bro, thanks for the recap...http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQv05nEbHebikaPr246rubDvHXjCmpz4 x902sBesd6twrLhmGxupw oh... I would say, honestly, Cousins could threaten Rex for #2.Don't play with my emotions, I want more then anything for Cousins to beat out Wrecks and make him go away (i'm fully aware the odds are slim) MTK 05-31-2012, 05:21 PM This is reaching Offiss-Ramsey levels lol Oh man, remember those days? And how CP was just a 3rd down back? |
