From USAToday (http://content.usatoday.com/communities/thehuddle/post/2012/05/second-achilles-injury-to-eagles-jason-peters-brings-lawsuit/1#.T7J39MX5DeQ), Jason Peters has reinjured his tendon, taking a season that was in doubt to one further in jeopardy.

I don't wish injury on any player, so I hope this thread can avoid the "point & laugh" mentality so pervasive on the intarwebs. M question is, how is Peters' contract structured? I know he signed a 6 year $60 million contract, but if he doesn't recovery fully, how much are the Eagles on the hook for?

I'm sure there must be some clauses in a player's contract for situations like this. I hate it for the guy (love it 'cause it puts a strain on the Eagles) but for Vick, at least that isn't on his blind side.

Never like to hear about a player having these types of injuries but it couldn't happen to a better team. Yesterday I played 18 holes of golf with Darryl Tapp's brother and did not figure it out until we were having dinner.

Hate to hear an individual is injured, love knowing the 'enemy' is debilitated.

Please don't do this. This is a new topic (he just reinjured his achilles) and he's asking about some different details. I'd rather not have to find some random page on a random thread to see this news.

There's a difference between opening a topic on the exact same thing, and opening a topic on something new and relevant. The Jason Peters thread was great, but it had come to completion. This is a new issue with unqiue discussion that can be had. Super broad threads are not good and lead to fractured discussion and doesn't allow those of us that visit a few times a day to be able to keep up with the topics.

He can do what he wants...but the mods will decide if a thread is redundant. This one isn't

What are you talking about? Nobody is referring to the previous Jason Peters thread.

This topic was being discussed already which is why I posted the link.

I think something like this is new thread-worthy. Obviously we don't want a bunch of crap threads littering up the board, but this is new news (in a slow news cycle no less) and worthy of its' own thread for discussion.

Rather than posting the guidelines to chide a fellow-poster, how about simply referring back to the thread where the discussion is taking place.

But enough of talking about how to talk about stuff, how about we talk about the stuff the thread meant for us to talk about ...

Sucks to be Jason Peters. While I thought he was already out for the season, does this set him back so much that he might miss the following season? Is it a career ender? As a practicall matter, is he going to miss any more time than he otherwise would have?
