Unless this guy knew about Vilma's involvement before the investigation, I think many people could've seen this happen. The fact that Vilma's name was mentioned in the initial reports and how much of a big deal this became, I am sure it made a lot of people realize that he was going to be suspended for a long time (including the whole season).

Tough for the Saints, they must feel like a wolf back into a corner, will be hard to beat.

Football is such a violent sport. Look at Eric LeGrand who can't walk anymore after a routine play, or Junior Seau who committed suicide that may (emphasis on may) have been caused by depression created by multiple hits to the head. The players know that it's dangerous and have been insistent that the league take better care to protect their safety during and after their careers...so I have no sympathy for players who go out of their way to encourage making the game more dangerous than it is or needs to be

For those wanting an example of the bounty system at work:

[O]ne Saints player was caught yelling during the NFC Championship Game in January 2010, after Favre was helped off the field due to a brutal high-low hit, "Pay me my money!'' The league's sanctions today lend credence Hargrove being that money-seeking player.

If Hargrove, as the league said in its release today, was suspended eight games after being a whistleblower and doing the league the service of signing a document confirming the existing of the bounty program, the NFL must have something major on him.

Favre was hit so hard and so repeatedly in the game that the league shortly thereafter fined two Saints $25,000 for three separate illegal hits, the last leaving Favre with a badly sprained ankle. That led to NFL Films capturing Hargrove excitedly telling mates on the sidelines, while slapping their hands, "Favre is out of the game! Favre is done! Favre is done!''

New Orleans Saints player suspensions add to historic disciplinary ruling - Peter King - SI.com (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/peter_king/05/02/saints.players/index.html#ixzz1tkDuH9hE)

If you believe that's how a game should be played or how professionals should conduct business, I respectfully disagree and find your position - again respectfully - repugnant.

Just to put this in perspective.

Leonard Little got a DUI and killed someone with his car. Shortly after that he got ANOTHER DUI.

He missed 8 games.

ok.. pretty sure his 8 games were from the NFL ,what happen to him in court? If you really can't tell the difference,....you're beyond help.
