He apparently lost 70 pounds his senior year, are you kidding me. What th hell did we pick?

You're right the months of research has paid off on guys like Dennis Morris, Terrence Austin, and Selvish Capers. Why wouldn't I think every pick will pan out just like the FO hopes? I should never question Bruce & Co. If it weren't for them, I'd have to read draft magazines and look at draft websites. What a waste of time that would be. I could never get those few seconds back. I'm glad I have Bruce Almighty to base my opinions on.

Um, their research led them to wait out for those guys you mentioned until the very late rounds, rounds in which most of the players taken in those rounds do not last long in the NFL.

Now, if you had read the projections on Capers, he would have been a FOURTH rounder, not a 7th. The FO thus defied "the masses" desires and avoided a reach.

I agree but the gambler in me says throw the dice. I think to be a truly great GM you have to peek in your shorts on draft day to see if you have a pair.

Lol. I like taking risks too - calculated risks. The best thing about risk taking is that sometimes you win. The bad thing is that sometimes you lose. If you lose, what is the consequence of losing? If the consequence is too high, then you had better not go "all in" especially if the wife and kids depend on that cash. I do however think that it is a flaw not to ever take calculated risks, especially if you can live with the consequence of losing. I am assuming that the possibility of him not being there later was too heavy a consequence for the FO but I really don't know without being there.

Hell, the Skins got a C grade from Pete Prisco so he can't be that bad...That's like an A- at least :)

We get an A grade just for getting RGIII alone.

Fun fact about the Packers' draft in 2005 is that only three of the guys they picked were worth a damn during their Super Bowl run: Rodgers, Poppinga, and Nick Collins. But no one seems to be saying they didn't draft well in 2005. ;)

A shift from a relatively sedantary lifestyle due to not being able to play football for a year to getting back into the athelete's regiment(and getting away from mom feeding him). I see nothing particularly concerning here.

LB depth is a concern. 4th rounders and lower are likely depth players, they should at least be open to taking a LB just to get another option to look at. Corners, on the other hand, probably won't make a big difference compared to the ones we already have.

Guy could work. A trade on the smaller side but he could overcome it. Watched some of his combine tape and he didn't really look athletic enough to play in the Z B S. But I am sure the scouts have watched more tape then I have.

And Shanny coached him in the Senior Bowl.
