Even though he donned the B&G, I never forgave Jake Scott for Super Bowl VII. Nor did I forgive the goalposts (on the goal line at that time) for blocking a potential touchdown pass.
We played the greatest team of all time relatively tough. If only we could have gotten Larry Brown going...
Yup, the defense played well enough to win the game. The offense just couldn't get ANYTHING going. Remember, the 1 score came on the special teams block by Vactor that lead to the interception and touchdown by Bass.

I would like to see Phil Simms stats are better then some and not as good as others ,honestly think he'll make it as a broadcaster before a player.Injuries did him in .

Simms actually has the numbers. He has a higher QB rating than Terry Bradshaw. Simms also has 2 Super Bowl rings. Their number of TD passes are very close. Simms does deserve high consideration.

I am actually always surprised you don't see Simms or Stabler in the HOF. If forced to pick one, I would go with Simms.
Of course, I put them both in the Roman Gabriel category (along with lots of others). They all deserve to be in, but at what point do you make the cut?

Speaking of the HOF, any thoughts about Brian Dawkins retirement and whether he'll be a HOF'er? I am leaning towards no given that he has played in the same era as Ed Reed and Polamalu, who are sure HOF'ers.

He should get in. 9 Pro Bowls. One of the best at his position for years.

I say he's a lock. Not necessarily on the first ballot. But the dude was All-pro 5 times...4 of which he was first team. To me that is the most significant thing. But to the people who like longevity, he played in 8 pro bowls and STARTED 16 years in the nfl.
