Asante Samuel is a decent corner back. He always has been. But the guy isn't worth anything more than 4-5 million $$$$$ a year if he comes to Washington. He's trying to go to a team that will pay him the most money as possible. Jabar Gaffney is a solid veteran receiver, but trading him for Samuel is not an even trade.

Stop talking like Jabar Gaffney is some prize. Any person in their right mind would trade Gaffney for Asante Samuel straight up.

Jabar Gaffney has been in the league since 2002 and never eclipsed the 700 yard mark until 2009, never had 60 receptions until 2009, and only had 5 tds once outside of this season. What a great asset. pssssssssssssssssssssshhhhhhhh
If we got Samuel for Gaffney straight up? Steal on our part. Not even close.

i really don't see a trade with gaffney unless it's a conditional late round pick for next year, or a 7th for this year. he is a middle of the pack wr in the nfl, my guess is he will get cut, get picked up and have a decent season but nothing to write home about.
i honestly dont think his tweets have much to do with his situation with the skins. i think shanny knew he was going to cut him, but i think shanny actually likes gaffney to an extent and wanted him to have a head start finding a new team. gaffney has done what the coaches have asked of him, and seems to understand the nfl. gaffeny was raised on the nfl and i think he has a true understanding of the bussiness mentality of the leauge.

Well, I still don't get how Mike Shanahan wants to get Gaffney out of Washington. The guy is a veteran wide receiver who happened to be the most productive wide receiver on the roster last season. Jabar Gaffney showed up for every game. With the additions of Garcon and Morgan, and with Hankerson coming back I still see plenty of room for Gaffney as a member of the Redskins receiving corps. The problem in my estimation is Shanahan. He micro manages too damn much.
