Just like I heard the Patriots have the easiest schedule? If true how fair is that? weren't they just in the SB? I thought the SB teams usually got the harder schedules and the weakest teams get the easiest schedules?

The opponents are determined for the next season at the conclusion of the regular season, there isn't any picking and choosing about who to play like in college football. Only the schedule order is determined by the NFL.

16 games total.
6 divisional games.
4 games against out of conference division (for us this would be the AFC North)
4 games against in conference division (this year NFC South)
2 games against 2 in conference teams determined by our order of finish last year (we finished 4th in division last year, so we play the 4th place teams from NFC North & NFC West aka Vikings and Rams)

Which means the total teams we play this year are Cowboys, Eagles, Giants twice, Ravens, Steelers, Bengals, Browns once, Panthers, Saints, Bucs, Falcons once, and Vikings and Rams once. This was determined at the conclusion of last regular season.

It is not up to the NFL. These games are predetermined years in advance. There is a perpetually rotating schedule between division play. Each division plays the other divisions on an 8 year rotating schedule. The match-ups are determined by how they finished in the division the year before.

We are playing the St. Louis Rams this year and the Tampa Bay Bucs because we were last in the division just like them. Everyone thinks the NFL picks how hard the strength of schedule is, but in reality, all but two of the games are already determined based on last years record. The only thing the NFL determines is the order of the games, not which teams play which for the most part.

Yeah I don't understand how the Patriots always seem to get breaks like that. Their schedule in the latter part of last season was pretty easy. They played Oakland, Buffalo (they lost this one though), San Diego, and Miami in their last four games. Between easy schedules and other teams making ridiculous trades in their favor, is like the entire team wants to keep them as contender (and the thing is that they don't need any of that).

Thanks for the break down guys. I understand the divisions are set a few yrs out. That I don't have a problem with. I also don't have a problem with our schedule we are playing one of the easiest schedules. What was it 7th easiest? I get we play the 4th place losers of the other divisions like we were. But my point is your a team that went to the SB last year, win or lose, one would think you would have a pretty hard schedule since you went that far the year before not the easiest schedule.

really only two teams are random/based off previous season records every year. everything else is cycled through, so SoS is pretty much random every year.

Who said the Giants got their schedule first? Where is this coming from?

We play the Rams every year. The Rams finish last every year.

Therefore I will be happy when we no longer play the Rams. It will mean (hopefully) that we are moving up in the world.

Tough schedule after the bye week but I'm glad we don't have a Week 5 bye like we had last year...I hate early-season byes for the players.

Playing a vulnerable, possibly unorganized Saints team in Week 1 is the best time to play them. We don't even know who's coaching them yet. Who knows...Brees might hold out, he's seriously ticked off about not getting a contract YET and they're still $2million apart per year in their negotiations.

Him and Steve M were predicting us and the colts records for next year. Steve had the colts with 5 wins and us with 3 wins.

I believe we are going to surprise some people this year.

Even if RGIII breaks both legs in camp and never takes a snap, we'll win more than 3 games with Grossman.

There is so much blind hatred for us out there in the media, it's laughable. I can't even get mad about it any more.
