People always seem to forget Clark spent two years as a Giant first.

There is nothing stopping them from drafting more ILBs this draft, and who better to set an example then Fletcher.

Why wait till Jun 1st?

One important aspect of signing now is that he will be at all team organized activities, and can help at a player to player level. That may be even more critical in this new CBA era with fewer team training days.

Imagine if the Redskins drafted that kid from Arizona State named Vontaze Burfict. If London Fletcher mentored him Burfict would indeed be the best inside LB in professional football one day.

This.

I've seen Burfict fall into the late rounds in a lot of mock drafts due to character concerns and a poor combine; however, he has fantastic game tape and the Ray Lewis comparisons alone should warrant a late draft pick. If we could pick him up in the fifth and let Fletcher mentor him we could have one of the biggest steals in this draft.

Normally when a kid is mentioned on public sports forums as being a steal, he doesnt slide. Not because you exposed his value, but because other paid scouts have already identified his adjusted(character) value.

Good teams draft great players an keep them. We are finally doing the poor mans version of that by keeping fletch.

I'd like to get to the point where we are more than the team that gives out crazy contracts or is used for leverage against the team a FA really wants to play for.

Hellllll no.

Kid ran over a 5.0 in the 40, AND I watched some of vids of him and he has 0 instincts as a LB. I'll be shocked if this guy gets drafted before round 5. Add this along with his crappy attitude and lack of control. No way, no how do I want this assclown on the Skins squad.

^ Yeah I always forget clark was a Giant before a skin. Amazing how he went undrafted.

Also what is the final numbers that London got for his new deal. People here keeping blurting out different amounts, but no one has given a source as to what it actually is.

What needs to happen is someone like London Fletcher, Brian Orakpo, or Phillip Daniels needs to sit this kid down. Burfict probably needs an attitude adjustment. His lousy performances at the combine and his pro day surprised me. In the Pac 12 he played well against Andrew Luck, Nick Foles, and Matt Barkley. If the Redskins don't draft him, some other NFL team will. Even if he doesn't get drafted, he will sign on as a FA somewhere. There's nothing wrong with Burfict. Like all children he just needs to grow up and mature.
