T.O.Killa 04-13-2012, 04:50 PM When I wrote pretty ordinary, I didn't mean in terms of the magnitude of the move in terms of its "front page headline" ability, but in terms of pretty ordinary as in we didn't get better or even get worse. We kind of just stayed the same
Wow. RG3 gives us a chance at greatness. Our franchise put all there eggs in the RG3 basket. He will either make us a contender or set us back five + years. I would call this the biggest move we have made in Redskins history.
NC_Skins 04-13-2012, 04:58 PM Seems one of the ES insiders breaking some good news on Twitter.
Busy day tweeps but caught a break real quick. Jackson you know about already. London will be done before Monday. Expect some restructuring of contracts before Monday as well.
Good to have LF back in the fold.
Actually, JLC was on top of this as well.

SBXVII 04-13-2012, 08:21 PM I chose "A".
#1- I don't see how anyone would not pick "A" simply if the team got RG3. The moves made to just to get him are "A" quality. Ok did I think too much was given? yes. but the fact still remained we needed a QB to hang their hats on and hopefully after the draft we all can forget about talking about that position as a need.
#2- This team needed an upgrade at WR. Well actually many spots, but getting a QB and not giving him weapons would be stupid. Our WR corps now looks a ton better.
#3- OL is what I think is haning everyone up from giving the team an "A". I know we need an upgrade or atleast more talent. I seriously think since the CAP space was taken away they had to alter their plans. Notice WR and FS/S was picked up. I think OL is going to be fixed in the draft. Picking up a RT and a G would help a ton. Remember it was only the OL's second year learing the blocking scheme and with some it was their first yr because of the change over. The OL looked a lot better towards the end of the season and with a few additions should be a lot better.
ArtMonkDrillz 04-13-2012, 08:53 PM With the news that Fletcher as finally been re-signed I'd like to bump my former C+ up to a B. The curve has been set.
skinsnut 04-13-2012, 11:09 PM Now that Fletcher is signed, and we have guaranteed a potential franchise rookie QB...it is easy...anything after this is gravy...we really only have a couple potential starter roles up for grabs...oline, safety and nickleback....WR is covered..that frankly is pretty good.
Every year, every squad will have 3-4 starter roles up for grabs...this is a good sign...last year and the year before we were transitioning our entire front 7, oline, WR's RBs...etc
I gave them a B
skinsnut 04-13-2012, 11:22 PM I would call this the biggest move we have made in Redskins history.
I would say this RGIII trade comment is an overstatement.
It is arguable that this isn't even the biggest QB trade in Redskins history...ever hear of an inter-divisional trade involving a guy named Sonny?
And in terms of just QB's...and "biggest moves" and not"trades...ever hear of Sammy Baugh?...Championships, Hall of Fame? Move from Boston to DC?
Don't get me wrong..it is a major dice roll...but unless RGIII ends up a perennial Pro-bowler, or even an occasional one, it is another Redskins mistake.
Sure, if he wins multiple Superbowls, I will agree...but until then....he is just another rookie with more Skins Fan's high hopes.
I like him too...but he is just a single player that hasn't done anything yet...which is why we now have a reasonable rookie cap.
I hope as strongly as you do...I just recommend a more tempered level of expectation.
skinsnut 04-13-2012, 11:30 PM Following year I don't know about that. I don't think Haslett has ever really comfortably established himself here and I don't believe he and Shanahan (Mike) always see eye to eye.
Anyhow, there are plenty of people who believe that ultimately MS will move full-time up stairs and the new leaders of the team on the field will be Kyle and Raheem-with one as head coach and the other as assistant/associate head coach/coordinator.
But I don't expect that to be next year
Now, this was a serious question and serious insight on the long term future of the Skins....Morris as DC sounds promising...even HC potential sounds interesting...Shanny JR was 2 years ago a sure thing in the minds of many as a future HC...now...not so much...we shall see.
It is good to have 2 potential HC on staff....ever remember the old days when most of us were freaking out because Gregg Williams was spurned as successor of Gibbs II....boy was I wrong!

Yes I have heard of them, but show were it cost as much to make the trade. SHOW ME!! Were are talking about the MOVES, not the end result.

It's good to have experience on the coaching staffs. A lot of NFL have coordinators and even position coaches who were once head coaches or those who will likely be head coaches in the future. If Raheem Morris ends up being the head coach of the Redskins someday, that would be a good thing. I'm not sure Kyle Shanahan is ready for such a demanding position.

I think there is a lot we don't know and a little that we do. All we know is what we see. How much wiggle room was KS given by his father? I look at the first year and ignore it because I think it was more the coaching staff getting to know what they had. Then they pretty much got rid of half the players. On top of that they really didn't have a running game that first year so I think KS was given more play calls. The second year I think MS took more control and added more of the running game.
Basically I think this year will be more telling. With a better running game, better QB play, an upgrade at WR and hopefully with a OL that knows their assignments better we will see better plays and better play calls.
