I just refused a workout for the Dallas Cowboys.

You should take them up on the workout...and then become a locker room cancer.

I kind of think theres something to RG3 refusing to work out for the Colts. I know a lot of people are saying there isn't but there was a point where Griffin was intent on competing essentially to the death to be the number 1 pick.

I propose that somewhere along the way he realized that wasn't as important as going to the team he felt most comfortable with (probably when the Redskins traded up). Maybe it's because he grew up a Bronocs fan and was excited about playing for Shanahan, maybe he wasn't excited about the prospect of playing with the Browns and when the Skins traded up he was relieved, maybe Shanahan sold him on his system over the course of their many meetings.

Either way I think that if he was still intent on competing to be that top pick he would have accepted the Colts invitation for a private workout.

I mean it is kind of weird that soon after this story came out the Redskins told everyone about how they never even asked for a workout.

Anyway theres a multitude of reasons but I think that for one reason or another Griffin decided he wanted to be a Redskin and the most polite way of telling the Colts that was to refuse all invitations for private workouts. That or he knew the Colts had pretty much decided on Luck and he didn't want to be used as potential leverage.

RG3 just simply didn't want to waste his time. Why risk working out for a team that you know is not going to draft you? Not to say the Colts wouldn't draft RG3 but when Andrew Luck is on your radar and you just get rid of Peyton Manning a few weeks ago there's a good bet that your mind is made up. Griffin III will allow his combine, his pro day, and his game film with Baylor talk for him if Indy wants to select him. If the Colts really wanted Griffin, they would have scheduled a visit for him before they scheduled Luck's visit. The fact that they already had scheduled a visit for Andrew Luck before they wanted RG3 to work out for them should let anyone know who they would be leaning towards selecting 1st overall come draft day.

I've said this in the other thread, but I think there are three main reasons to be a Redskin if you are RG3:

1) We want him, they don't. (ie. the general fanbase)
2) He'd get TONS more endorsements/publicity here. Rookie salaries about the same.
3) Less pressure to succeed (at least initially).

I certainly don't agree with your reason #3. The Redskins will more ready to compete for a playoff spot than will the rebuilding Colts. So, there may great expectations for RGIII to succeed early in Washington.

Also, I can't imagine a person like RGIII concerning himself with pressure to perform. He'll have higher expectations for himself than anyone else could ever impose upon him. I doubt that he'll worry one little bit about external pressure; he'll just work as hard as he can to become as good an NFL QB as he can become.

I'm thinking of working out for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders...and then becoming a locker room dirty old man.

I went to the Colts messsage boards just to see what they may be saying about us visiting RG3, maybe they might be mad or wanting their organization to do the same with Luck and I saw this...

Andrew Luck to meet with Redskins "Multiple Times" - Colts Football - Indianapolis Colts Fan Forum (http://forums.colts.com/index.php?/topic/7100-andrew-luck-to-meet-with-redskins-multiple-times/)

Both Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III will meet with the Washington Redskins multiple times between now and draft day, per a league source.

But they reference this article:

NFL.com news: Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III to have multiple Redskins visits (http://www.nfl.com/draft/story/09000d5d82827a9b/article/andrew-luck-robert-griffin-iii-to-have-multiple-redskins-visits?campaign=Twitter_writers)

I don't think we are evaluating QB's anymore and the last I heard we were coaching up RG3. Interesting that now they are saying we are meeting with both.
