Jontrem 03-15-2012, 11:27 PM I'm glad we kept this thread open, just so we could learn about whorses, those four legged sluts of Pimlico...are they like Ligers?
It's pretty much my favorite animal. It's like a lion and a tiger mixed... bred for its skills in magic.
30gut 03-16-2012, 12:11 AM Methinks the random shela that wrote that article is a bit mmjealous because we got:http://a1.ec-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/153/69da91efea7f458fa136fa3e8b14608f/l.jpg
I figured this thread is as good a place as any to show off my new Tee

Do you want to know how you breed a whorse? I'll give you a hint, they're made in Mexico. Because in America how they breed them is illegal. ;)
And that's your whorse related fun fact of the day!
Dirtbag59 03-16-2012, 01:11 AM AND the whorse she rode in on......
It's a pony that prostitutes use for transportation.
Carnage 03-18-2012, 10:38 AM What a stupid piece. RGIII should scramble away from us, but we have no idea how this would happen. Would he hold out to be a Brown? Would they give us 5 Picks?
Also this nugget: "The best quarterbacks need decent running games, offensive lines, wide receivers and defenses to have a chance. This is obvious. What is not so obvious is you have to have the right people in place to get the right people in place." Its true this is not a one man game, but if any qb has running game, oline, wrs and defence they are likely to succeed. RGIII has a chance by suiting up. Alll those other pieces would obviously make his chances better, but part of the "right pieces" is the ability as an organization to grow with this young man.
And the biggest "no shit" of all is to oint out that the teams that pick qbs at one or two are unlikely to have all of the elements she seems to require, and if they did, they would be too successful to have a shot at a guy like this.
This piece is worthless.
12thMan 03-18-2012, 02:01 PM I haven't nor do I intend to read this bullshit. But it just goes to show it takes zero football acumen to actually write about the Redskins. Most of what is written about the Redskins continues to be viewed through the lens of the failure of past regimes and rarely from a fresh angle. Sad that what's considered journalism is actually regurgitated pablum that's no longer relevant.
GusFrerotte 03-18-2012, 03:07 PM Not exactly the best article, as she called Jerry Jones a likeable fellow, and implying Snyder wasn't. I realize she is biased against the Boys most of the time, but why be so thin skinned about the not so rosy analysis? I mean face it, our post Mark Rypien track record blows chunks, no matter who we drafted or acquired, and we still have to build a great O line for RG III to flourish with. On top of that our love fest with RG III is based on only his senior year. I never heard of him as being a real Heisman candidate til halfway through the season. I am not trying to be an apologist for this woman, but why always discount some critical analysis of our team? I mean the running of the franchise for the past 14 years does leave something to be desired. As you know I am from Allen Park, MI, the home of the Lions, and I naturally am surrounded by tons of Lions fans. Everyone is on my case about getting behind a new team, a lot just over the RG III deal. These guys don't have any beef with the Skins, just are solid NFL fans and think we paid too steep of a price for him. Why do we always get a collective man crush on every QB we get? I still love how most guys in here made fun of McNabb as an Eagle, but loved the move to get him(even though they should have asked why did the Eagles let a division rival take him), only to say good riddance at the end. I fell for the Ramsey pick, but had to accept he sucked at the end. RG III can be a great boon for us and actually pan out, just saying I think at this point in time, with regards to our almost two decades of overall ineptness, any criticism is somewhat justified.

I agree that it isn't exactly an original piece or even a good article. I just think it is dumb to dismiss any criticism, etc. Face it, this RG III trade is still a big gamble. He hasn't played one down yet, hasn't taken a NFL snap. Billcik was very impressed with him and said he was a better passer than Cam was last year in the combine, etc, and he is probably a lot smarter as well. I think Robert will do very well for us, it is just a matter of surrounding him with good linemen that can hopefully stay healthy and guys that can actually hang on to the ball. Garcon was a gem of a FA acquisition, and will go a long way in helping both RG III and the other receivers. Still 1 future starter for 4 future probable starters does get me rethinking this at times.
